Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Things I have learned. Today I learned that when you mix hot chocolate and french vanilla cappuccino you create something comparable to.well nothing because it is pure perfection unlike anything else I have yet to drink. So as I sit here in ecstasy and sip my mug of perfection I decided to reflect on what I have learned today. Today I learned that you can indeed use a butter knife to cut a loaf of french bread when you are too lazy to wash either of your bread knives. Yesterda...

Friday, June 15, 2012. It finally happened. I jumped on the pallet bandwagon. The sad part is, I jumped on the pallet bandwagon about 3 months ago. But I got stuck on my project and set it aside for a long time until a light bulb went off in my head that said "Wow, you're dumb. Your original plan will work just fine, just get some longer screws." Der. To get your little pallet-y brains churning, here are some of the bazillions of projects floating about on the Internets:. Is your bike always falling over?

Monday, December 26, 2011. Ugly Sweater Party and Christmas 2011. The ugly Christmas sweater party was a success but I don't think Mom got the memo about the "ugly" Christmas sweater part. I complimented Denise on the wonderfully heinous sweater she was wearing (below) and told her that she could sell it on Ebay for a hefty sum because it looked like Christmas threw up on her. Mom overheard me and said "HEY! Sweater and it's not ugly. I just wore that to church on Sunday! What a cute little manager scene.

May 28, 2010. I Love My Doctor! So, I had a doctors appointment this week. Thought I better get a check up even though my 50 year 50,000 mile warranty has already run out. I went to my family practice doc. The same one that we have gone to for the last 27 years. I just love him. He reminds me of Gomer Pyle. I did quit going to him for the "lady" check up cause everytime he lifted up the sheet he would holler "Surprise! I really got uncomfortable when he was doing the breast exam and he shouted "Shazam!

June 12, 2010. Hope for Haiti and Peace for the Parent. I put my baby girl on a plane bound for Haiti a few days ago. I did it and only got just a little teary eyed- -no full out sobbing or biting my lip to keep from blubbering. My eyes just welled up with tears and no more. What in the world was wrong with me? I should be beside myself. I should have tried to talk her out of it.but I wasn't and I didn't. I encouraged her. That is what I have been trying to sort out. Why? Why am I at peace with this?

Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn." - Elizabeth Lawrence. O, to have a little house! To own the hearth and stool and all! The heaped up sods against the fire,. The pile of turf against the wall! Come little leaves, said the wind one day,. Come o'er the meadows with me and play. Put on your dresses of red and gold,. For summer is gone, and the days. Leaves in the Autumn come tumbling down,. Scarlet and yellow, russet and brown. Leaves in the garden were swept. Carol L. Riser. The nu...

Pumpkin Hollow: July 2013
http://mypumpkinhollow.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn." - Elizabeth Lawrence. Saturday, July 27, 2013. By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Between the dark and the daylight,. When the night is beginning to lower,. Comes a pause in the day's occupations,. That is known as the Children's Hour. I hear in the chamber above me. The patter of little feet,. The sound of a door that is opened,. And voices soft and sweet. From my study I see in the lamplight,. Descending the broad hall stair,. To take me by surprise.
