Exercise: Line drawing of the whole figure | Tiffany McLean
https://tiffanymclean.wordpress.com/2012/08/16/exercise-line-drawing-of-the-whole-figure
Research point – part 1 →. Exercise: Line drawing of the whole figure. August 16, 2012. Line drawing – Standing. For this exercise I had to draw a line drawing of the whole figure. I first did a pose of me standing up. I don’t think this turned out quite right, and I made a few mistakes on the arm by making it too slim. I’ve left the original pencil marks to the piece. I don’t think the top I was wearing helped as it was baggy below the bust. Line drawing – sitting. Line drawing – face. You are commentin...

My OCA student blog. Project Exploring colour media. April 4, 2014. For this project I have enjoyed experimenting, trying different media. I consider myself lucky to be able to buy all the required materials for this module. To show clearly what each media can do and to serve me in the future as reference, I have created samples from which here I will post a few:. Water soluble pens, pencils, inks and artbars. On each of these samples I have made pen notes about the used materials. April 2, 2014. Now I am...

My OCA student blog. Comments on report No. 1. April 2, 2014. I have received my tutor report for the first assignment of the Drawing 1 module. Full of constructive criticism, the report came across as a wake up call. Working towards a degree requires much more commitment and enthusiasm. I seem to misunderstand hat the course really requires when it comes to certain exercises. The above image is in the course material. This image is what I have produced for the Supermarket shop exercise. Fill in your det...

My OCA student blog. Monthly Archives: April 2014. Exercise Exploring colour media. Project Exploring colour media. April 4, 2014. Inks, art pens and dip pens. Inks are very expressive, have the advantage to be predictable (art pens) and non predictable (dip pens). If soluble, ink is very forgiving, but non soluble inks are permanent and they cannot be easily erased. All mistakes will show through. Pen and wash is a beautiful way of depicting any subject. This is one of my favorite techniques. For this p...

My OCA student blog. Comments on report 1 ( continuation). April 3, 2014. As a result, I will have to redo the assignment pieces, which my tutor advised me to send in the same time with the work for assignment 2. How do I feel about this result? I have felt very sad and even now, ashamed to put this situation in here, making it public. But its better to wake up now than later. Comments on report No. 1. Exploring coloured media →. https://tiffanymclean.wordpress.com/2012/08/18/to-edit
Experiments with self portrait. August 18, 2012. In preparation for my final piece I first want to experiment with different portraits using unusual reflectors. Today I have done two. Reflection in shaving mirror. Reflection in a filled wine glass. I am studying towards a creative arts Degree with the Open College of the Arts. I hope to eventually train to become an Arts Therapist. View all posts by tiffanymclean →. This entry was posted in Drawing 1. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

My OCA student blog. April 2, 2014. This is where I will record my progress as an art student with OCA. I start this to follow on my tutor s advice, to become more organized and present myself as an art student, in a professional way. I hope that this will bring me more than showing how I get on with my work towards the Painting Degree. Hopefully this will be a way to discover my full potential in all the aspects of my life. Exercise: Tonal Study | Tiffany McLean
https://tiffanymclean.wordpress.com/2012/08/17/exercise-tonal-study
Experiments with self portrait →. August 17, 2012. I now had to do tonal studies. For this tonal study I use charcoal. I think some tones are a little and I should have pushed this harder. I used my eraser to draw in the light on my face. I think I’ve captured a good likeness of myself, even if I do look miserable. Permanent marker and white chalk. Charcoal and white chalk. Before I decide on a final piece I am going to do some brain storming and experiments for different self portrait ideas. Research po...
