A Blog to be Named Later. A journal for friends, family, and colleagues to share my adventures in Africa. Saturday, October 25, 2008. Laugh of the Day. Off-Speed Pitch (Philadelphia): Would you believe Ryan Howard saw me the other day and acted like he doesn't even know who I am! I am in fact alive, just haven't traveled anywhere recently and been working a ton. Also still waiting on photos from others to finish posting about my Western Province and Livingstone trips. No way, that was so quick!

http://jpczambia.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
A Blog to be Named Later. A journal for friends, family, and colleagues to share my adventures in Africa. Thursday, July 31, 2008. Selected survey data from a presentation I attended yesterday on attitudes and behaviors related to HIV/AIDS in Zambia:. 8226; 44% of Zambians and 43% of Africans from the region (about 10 countries in southern Africa surveyed) believe that HIV/AIDS is punishment for sinning; down from 61%/56% in 2002. Lots of methodology questions on this survey, and I'm not attributing the ...

A Blog to be Named Later. A journal for friends, family, and colleagues to share my adventures in Africa. Sunday, April 5, 2009. Western Province, Day 3. After about 5 minutes of repeating that, they stopped and started a new beat. I couldn’t follow most of the song (it was in Lozi), but at one point in the second song, they stopped going around the circle and one of the older girls shouted in English (I’m pretty sure I have this right) “Can you shake your butt today? The last event of the day was an int...

A Blog to be Named Later. A journal for friends, family, and colleagues to share my adventures in Africa. Sunday, August 24, 2008. The first photo is my boss-loaned French press. My grounds are too fine to make really good coffee with it (the result is really cloudy), but it's a huge step up over the coffee from the Embassy snack bar. The rest of the photos are of my other new life-motivator.good pizza! The second was at Debonairs. Photos of my car below. Driving on the left was awkward for a couple ...

A Blog to be Named Later: U.S. Election Night
http://jpczambia.blogspot.com/2008/11/us-election-night-tools.html
A Blog to be Named Later. A journal for friends, family, and colleagues to share my adventures in Africa. Saturday, November 1, 2008. Like the tool that I am, I'm preparing for election night. Sadly, I haven't found a location where I'll have satellite TV (for CNN-International) AND reliable wireless internet so I can call home from my laptop. I also have to attend a party earlier in the evening that the Ambassador is hosting for the public here. I've also found a few handy tools in the last couple days:.

A Blog to be Named Later. A journal for friends, family, and colleagues to share my adventures in Africa. Sunday, April 5, 2009. Western Province, Day 2. Note: I'm finally posting on the rest of my Western Province trip, as I've recently received a boatload of photos taken by others. These posts were written in Zambia last year, so are a bit more emotionally charged than I would likely write now (for better or worse). Enjoy - JPC. Monday, September 8th. A Blog to be Named Later: Livingstone and Victoria Falls, Day 1
http://jpczambia.blogspot.com/2008/10/livingstone-and-victoria-falls-day-1.html
A Blog to be Named Later. A journal for friends, family, and colleagues to share my adventures in Africa. Friday, October 10, 2008. Livingstone and Victoria Falls, Day 1. Last weekend, I finally took a trip to Livingstone. I say finally because it's really one of the tourism highlights of Zambia, and folks here had been constantly asking why I hadn't gone yet. I had lunch with Malia and DJ and heard more about the Consul's job (interesting! The currency was what I really wanted anyhow, though the bracele...

A Blog to be Named Later: Back to the Happiest Place on Earth
http://jpczambia.blogspot.com/2008/09/back-to-happiest-place-on-earth.html
A Blog to be Named Later. A journal for friends, family, and colleagues to share my adventures in Africa. Tuesday, September 30, 2008. Back to the Happiest Place on Earth. I found flights to Cape Town for $515 roundtrip by using 2 different airlines, which is MUCH cheaper than the $800 I paid last time, so decision made! I'll be going from November 15th-18th, and perhaps this time I can actually get to Robben Island and up Table Mountain. I break up the flight and don't have a 17 hour leg. Back to the Ha...
