The Occasional Pat: Another Annie Sloan make over!

http://theoccasionalpat.blogspot.com/2011/07/another-annie-sloan-make-over.html

Ramblings about gardens, crafts and the odd bit of cooking and baking. Saturday, July 16, 2011. Another Annie Sloan make over! Started this project before my lovely Grandson arrived. He has now departed and is continuing his travels around Europe and we are missing him already so have got stuck in and finished this little table. I am showing you the finished item (except for the buffing which has to wait until tomorrow) first for a change. I gave it one coat of AS (mix of 1 part Chateau Grey 1 part.

The Occasional Pat: Annie Sloan paint being tested

http://theoccasionalpat.blogspot.com/2011/07/annie-sloan-paint-being-tested.html

Ramblings about gardens, crafts and the odd bit of cooking and baking. Monday, July 11, 2011. Annie Sloan paint being tested. Well, I have been so excited about using this paint I have had some sleepless nights (sad). I started with a shelf unit that was made about 25 years ago by my other half. It was a prototype so it has never been pristine so was a good choice to do my first bit of distressing. Actually it was the distressing that was most stressful! Labels: Annie Sloan paints. Oh Pat, definitely don...

Crème de la Crème: April 2012

http://painted-furniture.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 30, 2012. Some years ago I bought this little stool. By then I was crazy (and still I am) about mosaics, my idea was to cover the top and part of the legs and then paint the rest. For the mosaic I used broken crockery, basically plates with nice colors and patterns. I also used some glass nuggets. I use it now as a bedside table :-). I got this bench some time ago, I painted it white and left it. The white paint alone wasn't enough. not for me! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I'm happily marrie...

http://painted-furniture.blogspot.com/2012/04/country-bench.html

Monday, April 30, 2012. I got this bench some time ago, I painted it white and left it. The white paint alone wasn't enough. not for me! One day I woke up knowing exactly what to do to refresh the look. I got my Annie Sloan paints. Aubusson Blue mixed with a bit of Original.after it was dried I applied a white wash on top. I left the seat natural and added a bit of dark wax, I love the finish! May 23, 2012 at 2:02 PM. May 24, 2012 at 7:54 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Crème de la Crème: August 2011

http://painted-furniture.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Saturday, August 20, 2011. Wax Vs Varnish or Eggshell Paint and Farrow and Ball. I have realized that waxed furniture is not really the ideal thing when you have little kids in the house, as it is my case. Cabinets, side tables are ok, but dining chairs and kids furniture need a different treatment, a different finish. So I treated myself to a 2.5lt tin of F&B paint:. There are so many beautiful colors to choose! But because I want to paint my dining chairs I went for Skimming Stone. Fun shabby chic signs.

Crème de la Crème: Rustic chalkboards!

http://painted-furniture.blogspot.com/2012/02/rustic-chalkboards.html

Friday, February 24, 2012. It's been some time since the last post, I know.I have been very busy and the weather wasn't ideal to paint either. But I'm back and I'm very excited with my latest project :-). I bought 8 kitchen cupboard doors on Ebay.solid oak! I immediately knew what I wanted to do with them. The shape and surface was ideal for this. Then I took another door (56 x 50cms) and made a simpler chalkboard. I also used AS paint, a light Aubusson blue, then a coat of Original. The Pratt's Patch: July 2011

http://theprattspatch.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, 30 July 2011. My first bit of furniture - the learning really begins. So this is the little dark wood table I got for a few pounds a while ago. I Annie Sloaned it . And then added 2 decoupage maple leaf emblems from Graphics Fairy and distressed the whole thing. I think I got a bit heavy handed on the lower part of the table but hey that is how it goes! I wasnt sure how the decoupaging would work out but seems ok and took the wax really nicely. Wednesday, 27 July 2011. Tuesday, 26 July 2011.

Crème de la Crème: June 2012

http://painted-furniture.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Nest of tables transformation. I recently painted a few small tables for a guy who owns a furniture shop nearby. I began with the nest of tables:. The curvy legs and carvings had a lot of potential! I used AS Paris Grey. I sanded the tops and finished them with a coat of clear wax followed by one of dark wax. Don't you think they look lovely? And a reasonable question. Skip to primary content. October 6, 2011. I never particularly liked the piece once it was delivered. It looked like it was made out of some type of resin or plastic and I learned my lesson about buying something from a catalog. But it was put to good use. It was the catch-all for everything in my house. The crayons and coloring books, toys, games, school papers. A functional piece turned into a whole lot of ugly! And I had a vision. Painted with Annie Sloan’s Olive and O...
