Here’s Hoping You Get That Puppy. September 2, 2014. This entry was written by “Me” for me. Sounds confusing I know, but if you can keep your focus I think we can all get there in one piece. “Me” is who I really am… not the me that most folks know. If you know “Me” then you really know me. If you’ve followed this far then it’s probably safe for you to go on. I couldn’t find “Me”. I knew I had put “Me” somewhere, but where? 614 days is too long a time to remember. A “Me”! One “Me”. A few days ago Sandy in...

I am NOT OCD!! | Poppy's Perspective
https://bpowers2002.wordpress.com/2010/05/04/i-am-not-ocd
I am NOT OCD! May 4, 2010. My name is Bill and I am OCD. My wife says so. Saturday, Sandy and I were standing in a long line at our local grocery. Waiting in line is such a bore. Sandy will flip through the Enquirer or People magazine checking up on Brad and Angela, but I. Take a look at that guys cart! What a goober. I can’t believe the OCDness of this guy! Sandy replies, Yeah, so unlike your cart. And besideswhen you go shopping you always crush the bread and break the eggs! The truth sometimes does.

Portrait Artist . . . and random things from my heart. For an up close and personal look into mine and my family’s lives, I also have a personal website separate from my professional website: Sandy’s Personal Website. I have a passionate love for travel (particularly for the Rocky Mountains), and I love documenting our hikes, our friendships, and of course, pictures of the loves of my life: my family and friends! My Blog:2010 in review. Reflection on My Unthinkable Pursuit →. February 16, 2011. The mountains are there….in their sugar frosted goodness that gently reminds you of their rugged timelessness. The snowy trails beckon….the crunchy, icy glazed coldness that leads you into a quiet you can feel. The skies…a blue that hurts your eyes in there vividness. The cold, crisp mountain air that makes each breath a moment of newness. The elk, blowing their smoke into the frigid air. We wish you all the joy your heart...

https://bpowers2002.wordpress.com/2010/09/01/14255-revisited
The Taunt and The Answer →. September 1, 2010. Photo by the ever lovely Lora Bierbaum! It’s been almost 3 months since my last entry. Titled 14,255 , I shared about our decision to hike (climb) Longs Peak with a group of friends and the need for this fat boy to get in condition. That was June 2, 2010. Last Friday, August 27, 2010 we made it to the summit of Longs Peak. 58 years old. Summer highs in SoTex average 100 degrees. The humidity stays around 80% on a good day. Let’s do the math:. The Plan –.

A Christmas Story: The Juan I’ve Been Waiting For. Here’s Hoping You Get That Puppy. December 25, 2012. It’s been a long time since I felt like writing anything. Typically at Christmas I like to get all creative and knock out a piece of nonsensical blabber….not so much this time. Probably the Mayan end of the world thing. I guess this year I’ll just let it slide. We went to our son’s churches Christmas Eve services tonite. No small feat by the way! I’m struck by how cool this has become. I sat through th...

Monthly Archives: August 2011. Reflection on My Unthinkable Pursuit. August 26, 2011. It’s been a year now. A year ago Sandy and I were just turning in for the night for our 1:30 AM wake up to begin our assault on Longs Peak. 14,255″ of Rocky Mountain goodness. Longs Peak is a hike, (or as some call it…” a walk up”, but with plenty of exposure and risk) and we approached it with more than some trepidation. Longs did kick our butts. The heroes were real. The lesson learned was about the effort. I was full...

The Pioneer Dude: One Semi Sweet Life….fish tacos! | Poppy's Perspective
https://bpowers2002.wordpress.com/2010/04/02/the-pioneer-dude-one-semi-sweet-life-fish-tacos
The Wilderness has been tamed! Where Rabbits Wouldn’t Go →. The Pioneer Dude: One Semi Sweet Life….fish tacos! April 2, 2010. This is really a simple and easy meal to prepare. I’ve had fish tacos twice in my life, so my expectations were low. I’m a red meat guy and my idea of the perfect fish dinner is usually not to have the fish but opt instead for the beef. But Sandy was needing something non-yogurt, so I was willing to take one for the team. The Cast of Characters:. We served it with saffron rice and...

A Christmas Story: The Juan I’ve Been Waiting For | Poppy's Perspective

Reflection on My Unthinkable Pursuit. Here’s Hoping You Get That Puppy →. A Christmas Story: The Juan I’ve Been Waiting For. December 24, 2011. Yes Virginia, there is a Juan. He exists as certainly as anger and selfishness and self centeredness exist, and you know that they abound and make your life miserable. How joyful would the workplace be if there were no Juan. I soon find out. My “Buddy” announced his retirement effective Jan. 1. He might be missed, but probably not too much. When out in the parkin...
