Speaking & Hosting. You are here: Home. New Chat with Julie Murphy for SLJ. September 16, 2015. Had a great time chatting the other day with my friend (the very smart, funny, and beautiful) Julie Murphy. We gabbed about her new book DUMPLIN’, my new book WHAT WE SAW, and everything from what it means to be a feminist to our Christian high school connection. Here’s the link to the full piece at School Library Journal. April 12 L.A. Times FOB, YA & MG, Day 1. March 17, 2014. Saturday, April 12. In addition...

Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Favorite books this year (so far). I’m terrible with summaries, so click through for synopses done by better people than I. By RJ Anderson. Beautiful, elegant speculative fiction, with a bit of mystery thrown in for good measure. You can read a detailed review on my blog here. By Libba Bray. There’s a character who spends the entire book with a tray stuck through her head. What else do you need to know? For fans of crazysauce. Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes. I just finish...

Mighty Smackdown: April 2015
http://mightysmackdown.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
We wanted to create a way where we could read a few books, learn about many titles and have fun doing it! The tournament style reading of the Mighty Smackdown means that in the first round each participant reads two books, discusses both in a blog post, selecting one book to move on to the next round. Teachers are asked to commit to one round but most, if not all, continue on. We will read to the end when we will have only one book left standing! Shelfari: Book reviews on your book blog. Give Us The Sun.

The Spilled Inkwell: About
http://ellygardspilledtheinkwell.blogspot.com/p/my-favorite-things.html
Be who you are, and be that well." - Saint Francis de Sales. Elly Gard is a writer, an over-thinker, an inventor of words, a dreamer of improbable dreams, a Catholic who strives to find God in little things, and a bit of an anglophile. She lives somewhere in America, with her only slightly-younger brother (Matt), rockin' homeschool mom, handy-dandy dad, two dogs, and a cat who thinks she's a Russian tsar. Probably be located in her room nursing a novel. Words that reside in no dictionary or language.

The Spilled Inkwell: April 2015

Be who you are, and be that well." - Saint Francis de Sales. Wednesday, April 15, 2015. This never-ending road to TAC. I have found my place. When I was in 8th grade, my Logic I teacher introduced me to Thomas Aquinas College. I know it isn't for everyone, but this is how I want to learn. I've wanted to visit the college since I was thirteen, and I finally did a few weeks ago. That permeates the creases of every part of the school binds everyone together in a unique, shining way. It's truly amazing.
