A Miniatures Hobby Room: September 2014
http://volsminiatures.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
A Miniatures Hobby Room. A blog site dedicated to the wargame miniatures hobby. Monday, September 15, 2014. GHQ 22 Gun Post Ship HMS Laurel. Here is a 22 gun ship from GHQ. It can be modeled either as a sloop of war or a 6th rate post ship. The HMS Laurel was a post ship and this is the name I picked for the model. The Laurel carried 22 nine pounders on her upper gun deck. The model has no guns on the forecastle or quarterdeck, another reason I picked the Laurel. A Miniatures Hobby Room. The Tides of War.

A Miniatures Hobby Room. A blog site dedicated to the wargame miniatures hobby. Friday, January 31, 2014. The Design Accuracy Delimma. Building ships from four manufactures who produce the same named ships always brings up the question "Who's ship design is the accurate one for this vessel? From: http:/ www.todoababor.es/vida barcos/nav 74can.htm. As you can see, the GHQ model matches the graphic on the Spanish Navio site to an impressive degree IMO. A Miniatures Hobby Room. A Miniatures Hobby Room. A blog site dedicated to the wargame miniatures hobby. Monday, July 6, 2015. Scratch Built 1/1200 Third Rate 80 Gun Ship of the Line Tonnant. It has been a while since I posted anything. Spring came early and the Honey Doos sort of put a halt to the work in the shipyard. But the recent record high temperatures in the Northwest and the fact I caught another cold has allowed me to spend some time for my current passion, Napoleonic ships. Forecastle: 6 brass long 12 pounders'. Broad...

A Miniatures Hobby Room. A blog site dedicated to the wargame miniatures hobby. Sunday, October 12, 2014. Yesterday I attended the 2nd day of the Tactical Solutions convention in Spokane Valley. It was my first time at this convention and I got to meet a lot of good people. Unfortunately there were no Napoleonic Naval games (I was asked to put one on but I chickened out). There was a Lego Pirate game and a WWII naval game. This was another Saga setup with a really nice fort. A Miniatures Hobby Room.

Nominally 112 guns in 1791, by 1805 she carried 124 (threedecks.org). This model has 124 ports/guns, thus my decision to name her Reina Luisa. Total broadside weight 1519.232 lbs / 646.272 kg. With Langton Santa Ana. My fleet so far. I always appreciate comments, suggestions, and ideas. A Miniatures Hobby Room. Links to this post. Thursday, December 26, 2013.

A Miniatures Hobby Room. A blog site dedicated to the wargame miniatures hobby. Sunday, February 9, 2014. GHQ Spanish 74 Gun Ship Monarca. This one is the last of the Montanes (Mountaneer) class ships of the line. Monarca's history below is taken from, you guessed it, my favorite Spanish Naval History website http:/ www.todoababor.es/listado/navio-monarca2.htm. Again, this is a direct translation to English so the syntax may be difficult to understand. I included the French ships. Burgos feet and inches.

I built it as the American Privateer Anaconda, launched in 1812. In April 1813 she gained notoriety by taking the British Express Packet:. The following account of the action between the Express packet and the American privateer Anaconda, has been transmitted by an Officer of the packet:-. Indeed, Capt. Shaler of...
