Sunday, April 13, 2014. Green Beans and Potatoes - Indian Style. So if you're ready to experiment with some Indian spices, this is a great start! Fresh Green beans [2 cups cut]. Red potatoes [3 medium-sized]. Baking soda [1/4 teaspoon]. Canola Oil [4 tablespoons]. Turmeric powder [ 1 teaspoon, to taste]. Ground cumin [ 2 teaspoons, to taste]. Red cayenne powder [ 1/2 teaspoon, to taste]. Salt [ 2 teaspoons, to taste]. 3 Add a 1/2 cup of water and let the vegetables cook for about 10 minutes.

Wednesday, April 30, 2014. I love juicy juice - and no, I'm not referring to the boxed drink Juicy Juice. I'm referring to fresh. Juice made with real. Fruits. I know there's been a trend of 'juicing,' but I actually grew up with my mom making carrot and beet juice. I used to absolutely hate it - I would close my eyes and gulp as fast as possible. But, now, I can't get enough of it. We've started experimenting with different combinations, so here are some of our favorites. 1/2 cup of grapes.

Thursday, April 10, 2014. I'm a fan of hummus, but I recently decided to add a fun twist to the hummus with some cilantro and jalapeno. I call it Yummus! 1 15-ounce can of chickpeas. 1/4 cup of lemon juice. 1/4 cup of greek yogurt. 2-3 cloves of garlic. 2 tablespoons of olive oil. 1/2 to 1 teaspoon salt, depending on taste. 2 to 3 tablespoons of water1 jalapeno. 1 handful of cilantro. Paprika to sprinkle on top. Add all ingredients to the food processor until consistency is smooth. Tofu and Veggie Skewers.

Thursday, April 24, 2014. I love alfredo sauce - but I don't love the high fat content and the incredible amount of calories that come with it. So (thanks to my Mom), I've started making my own white, alfredo-like sauce that's so much healthier and very tasty! 3 tablespoons olive oil. 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup of milk. 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese. Salt, pepper, nutmeg to taste. Start my adding the olive oil to a medium high heat pan. Add the all-purpose flour and mix in with the oil.
