We drove to Glenorchy today where once again the scenery was breathtaking, it was about 45km from Queenstown. We did the lake Sylvan walk which leads through the old Morianer river, through the red beech forest to Lake Sylvan. In the morning we went to Arrowtown which used to be a former gold mining town and had a huge chinese settlement from the 1870s. It’s a quaint little historic town just 20 minutes drive from Queenstown. The shops and cafes still have the original features in terms of architecture from the 1800s which make Arrowtown very picturesque. We were completely overjoyed with where we were!
