DWARFED FILMS: Where to put the camera
http://dwarfedfilms.blogspot.com/2011/08/where-to-put-camera.html
The Filmmaking Blog of DWARFED FILMS. Sunday, August 14, 2011. Where to put the camera. When you're making a film the most basic thing you should know is where to put the camera. But there is no 'perfect' place to put the camera. The choice is entirely up to the director and cameraman. I was 'inspired' to talk about this today because I just watched some crappy TV movie who's film-maker randomly plucked camera positions out of a lucky-bag! Anyway, back to the topic of camera placement. Good luck to ya!

The Filmmaking Blog of DWARFED FILMS. Monday, January 21, 2008. The 10 Minute Blender Particle Hair Tutorial. I've made a simple PDF tutorial for using the new Jahka particle system in Blender. The previous .EXE tutorial I made and provided before on this site was Ok-ish but this new one is far better! Also, this tutorial is based on the latest version of the particle system as used in the Blender 2.45 SVN AAO build available on www.graphicall.org. You can download the PDF tutorial here. Well, ignore tha...

DWARFED FILMS: The Importance of Sound in Film.
http://dwarfedfilms.blogspot.com/2011/08/importance-of-sound-in-film.html
The Filmmaking Blog of DWARFED FILMS. Monday, August 15, 2011. The Importance of Sound in Film. How important is sound in film? Well, it’s more important than the image. Crazy talk, you say? Nope It's much more important than your beloved images. Think about it: how many times have you sat through a movie you watched back in the day on a fuzzy VHS tape? Many, I’m sure. Now how many times have you got frustrated watching a DVD that had pristine, crisp images but bad audio? So how do you get clean audio?

DWARFED FILMS: How to Get Rid of annoying Circular Dynamic Feedback pointer in Windows
http://dwarfedfilms.blogspot.com/2012/04/how-to-get-rid-of-annoying-circular.html
The Filmmaking Blog of DWARFED FILMS. Monday, April 23, 2012. How to Get Rid of annoying Circular Dynamic Feedback pointer in Windows. There are few things more annoying than that stupid animated swirly circle thingy. That Microsoft decided to add to any pointing interface in Windows. (shown below). It may look lovely to some sad fool out there, but it is impossible to draw or paint using a drawing tablet while this thing pops up all the time. It was only last year that I discovered a website. I present ...

The Filmmaking Blog of DWARFED FILMS. Friday, January 13, 2012. Test of Video CoPilot Action Essentials City Explosion. A brief test using the footage and tutorial from the VideoCoPilot Action Essentials 2 DVD which I got the other day. Some great stock footage included but it takes a combination of multiple elements and various blending modes to make it fit correctly into a live action scene and seem convincingly real. DWARFED FILMS: Inspirational Cinematic Photography Examples
http://dwarfedfilms.blogspot.com/2011/09/inspirational-cinematic-photography.html
The Filmmaking Blog of DWARFED FILMS. Thursday, September 22, 2011. Inspirational Cinematic Photography Examples. Often a still image can convey a greater story than most feature length movies, creating a mood that goes far beyond what is a solitary frame. On doing a Google search for ‘cinematic photography’ I was disappointed with what popped up: mostly some Flickr photo’s cropped top and bottom with a black bar. I’m sorry, but this is not cinematic. The thing to notice when you check out these images i...

DWARFED FILMS: Writing Films - How Descriptive should a Movie Script be?
http://dwarfedfilms.blogspot.com/2011/10/writing-films-how-descriptive-should.html
The Filmmaking Blog of DWARFED FILMS. Thursday, October 13, 2011. Writing Films - How Descriptive should a Movie Script be? Just how descriptive should a script be? Well, it all depends on whether you are writing a script that you intend to make yourself or whether it is going to be made by somebody else. I'm going to focus on talking about writing a script that you are making yourself. I should warn you that this is another one of my long postings ;). The script is the blueprint. Let's take an example.

DWARFED FILMS: Blender UV Projection Modifier+Adobe After Effects+Camera Mapping TEST
http://dwarfedfilms.blogspot.com/2012/02/blender-uv-projection-modifieradobe.html
The Filmmaking Blog of DWARFED FILMS. Monday, February 27, 2012. Blender UV Projection Modifier Adobe After Effects Camera Mapping TEST. A very quick and basic test of camera mapping using Blender 3D and After Effects. I used a still photograph and used the UV projection modifier in Blender to 'map' the image onto some very basic geometry. The camera move is very slight - and the 'shot' lasts just 2 seconds! But you can see that it works. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). To Shoot A Rurf. NOTICE: Click...
