Facebook will be down. I once walked/stood in a church/cathedral listening to this. It was in Italy/Spain. I don't remember clearly. Age. I connected with the tune and building - not so much the religion. Although it was spiritual/groovy. Pick the bones out of that. Headphones on/2:04 b-line and thank me later. Hip Hop Connection magazine has always been the more sensible monthly rap mag but when it's mainstream competition is The Source it's not that hard. 50 The Sindecut - Changing The Scenery [1990] An album I need to listen to again as the only thing I remember is 'Live the Life' - I have it on vinyl somewhere. Time to dust off the SL1210. 43 Stereo MC's - 33-45-78 [1989] From well before chart success this album spawned the wonderful 'What Is Soul? 20 Hustlers Convention - Various [1989]. 10 Mark B and Bla...

Public Enemy May 2008. My favourite two bands of all time. Within a month of each other. It doesn't get much better than that. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Autobiog by M.Lawrenson. Department of Infinite Possibilities. Simple template. Powered by Blogger.

I've never met someone who admitted to liking Kasabian. They've got fans - someone is buying their music. Who are they? I spent the day listening to their first album. Quite enjoyed it. Mid life crisis rumbles on. Dumb and Dumber To. A pointless mess of a film that comes far to late after to first to ride its wave and with no real comedy in it to create a belly laugh. An embarrassment to all involved. Lastly we watched St. Vincent. I'll start with the negatives - it was soppy, predictable and cli...Perha...

Kool and the Gang - an apology. So whilst listening to Caveman's You Can't Take It. I had an epiphany, if that is the correct usage. The break being used on the track is Kool and the Gang - and suddenly the likes of Ladies Night and Cherish faded away and were replaced with memories of Give It Up, Funky Man, Kool It, N.T and Jungle Jazz. Don't you just love it when you rediscover a quality band? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Autobiog by M.Lawrenson. Department of Infinite Possibilities.

Fuck You"- Cee Lo Green, Daryl Hall. Deviant Art - 2014.2. I know I've come to the party so late that they're mopping blood off the dance floor but I've only recently spent any time looking through the Deviant Art website. Like YouTube, Flickr, eBay etc etc if you have the time and patience you can find some beautiful things. This is Burn, Burn, Burn by Agnes Cecile. And is inspired by the suicide of Thich Quang Duc in 1963 in Vietnam. Moderat - Bad Kingdom 2014.1. Because I would like a record of the mu...

Radiohead - The King of Limbs. I could write a review but that would be boring and pointless. If you've been following Radiohead for the last few albums you're probably in one of two camps - Camp A : You're a Radiohead zombie and will love it Camp B : You're listening to it out of morbid curiousity because you liked The Bends or OK Computer and you're waiting on a "return to form". Here are some of the things I've seen written. It's not The Bends II is it? It's just no catchy enough for me.".
