The new home of Troutgirl
June | 2009 | Fishy thoughts
https://troutgirl.wordpress.com/2009/06
The new home of Troutgirl. Palm Pre in my hot little hand. June 7, 2009. What don’t I love so far? But all in all, I am more than happy I stuck with Palm — and I hope the company really does well from this. It seems like one of those situations where they were so far down that innovation was the only option… and I’ve always loved those stories. Now if I can only get my SDK, I’ll be a truly happy camper! Eleven national parks | Fishy thoughts
https://troutgirl.wordpress.com/2008/08/11/eleven-national-parks
The new home of Troutgirl. August 11, 2008. Not only does King’s Canyon/Sequoia have the biggest trees on earth and a glacier-carved valley second only to Yosemite, but it’s an automatic two-for-one on any national parks life-list because you have to go through a bit of the former park to get to the latter. Along with my previous eight. And Death Valley which I forgot to mention visiting last Thanksgiving, this means I’m up to 11 national parks. Only 47 to go! Get out of here, bear! May | 2009 | Fishy thoughts

The new home of Troutgirl. May 13, 2009. Billys dojo circa 1990. As I get older I ever more value the friends I’ve had from my youth, the ones who stuck in there over many years. I always feel sorry for people who don’t have those old friends who can keep their heads from overinflating when things go well, or remind them of their innate strengths when circumstances turn downward. Five most annoying Twitter habits | Fishy thoughts
https://troutgirl.wordpress.com/2009/07/06/five-most-annoying-twitter-habits
The new home of Troutgirl. Five most annoying Twitter habits. July 6, 2009. Now that everyone I know seems to be flooding every corner of the Interwebs with tweets, I can’t help but notice some well-nigh universal annoying habits that make my teeth grind with ire every time I see them. The top offenders:. Automated location notifications, especially cutesy ones. I guess in theory I can see why someone would want to broadcast that they’re sitting in a Borders right now, although I think people tend ...
September | 2010 | Fishy thoughts

The new home of Troutgirl. 36 hours in my Silicon Valley. September 30, 2010. The NYT travel section featured Silicon Valley in its “36 hours in…” column. Recently, and wow did the article make us sound duller than dirt. It was a combination of stuff no one ever does (hanging out in Los Gatos boutiques? Is the spot: it’s historic, centrally located just off a bike route, and includes a rather upscale tiki bar called Trader Vic’s with pupu platters and zombies in case you need a handy refuge. Offers yummy...

Mike's Bamboo Rod Shop. Welcome to my shop. Most fishers have "cut their teeth" on plastic, composite rods. Though they have fallen in love with the sport, many are left with the all too familiar feeling of . "there must be more to it.". Fishing bamboo for some folks is now the only way to fly fish! Thanks for visiting my site - enjoy! This is Barkley, the rest of the shop staff. Michael Shay Split Bamboo Fly Rods. Inyokern , CA 9. The Fly Fishing Loop is sponsored by flydepot.com.
Fishy thoughts | The new home of Troutgirl
The new home of Troutgirl. January 16, 2011. 2009 had been pretty much a smoking crater for me — I lost my mind, almost died, closed my startup, totaled my car, lost friends, and tried dating — but I made no resolutions towards self-improvement in 2010. Instead I decided to re-engage with joyful life through the inspiration of a movie I never even saw: the Jim Carrey comedy Yes Man. Give good wingman for my girlfriends? Drive the breadth of the nation from LAX to JAX in an ’89 Toyota? September 30, 2010.
Troutgirly | the softer side of troutgirl
The softer side of troutgirl. December 29, 2008 in Lace Knitting. Ever since I first read Elizabeth Zimmermann’s. Pi shawls have a couple of special issues that stem from the fact of their roundness. For one thing, how often and how much should one increase? With all that in mind, I settled on this scheme:. 0) Cast on 12 stitches with Emily Ocker’s circular beginning. K 1 round plain. Increase round *yo k1* repeat to end: 24 stitches. 1) K 4 rounds plain. Increase round: 48 stitches. 6) 128 rounds of ver...

Trout Grass
Views on fish, water, flies, bamboo, fine (and not so fine) bourbon, and conservation in the trenches from a flyfishing, rodmaking, whiskey-drinking grassroots conservation activist. Thursday, May 3, 2007. Conservation in this day and age is tough. I use the war metaphor at times, but that's pretty obviously over the top. Sometimes the "trenches" of conservation are found in places like middle school classrooms. I'm proud to work with. In my local TU chapter. He runs our. Trout in the Classroom Project.

Through trout green glasses. A journal of obsessions, and the cycle of. Or, Tranquility through repetition. Sunday, June 22, 2014. Flounder eat it up though! Hand pouring allows cool things. Lure dev elopement is a slow process. I have what I want. But I keep thinking I can make it better. More molds and more testing.
