Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Here, Eva is milking a city cow. They are much better behaved then their country-folk relatives. Owen also tried his hand at milking. He was pretty mesmerized by the whole process. After our zoo class is over, we finish the day off with a little zoo exploration. Sunday, March 27, 2011. Good things come to those who wait. After watching this video last week, Marc did the marshmallow experiment with Owen. We later watched the video as a family and talked about what it means to "continue in patience.". This morning, as we were eating breakfast Owen asked if he could have one of his beloved chocolate milk boxed drinks from the pantry. Monday, February 1, 2010. Here are a few pictures from the mid-year parents night at the girls' dance studio. We got to come in and observe a typical class, and then take a peek at what they have in the works for their end of year recital. Of course, the day I come with my camera, Madeline forgets her ballet shoes and her tights :). Oh well. I cant believe how much older they look! And so graceful too. This year, we have decided to celebrate Chenn birthdays a little differently.instead of inviting a bunch of friends over- and stressing over games, food, and goody bags- we decided to do 2009 a bit more calm than years past. Who knows, this could be our mantra for birthdays to come.that is how enjoyable and stress-free it was. The cake is not much to look at, but the girls loved putting the figurines on and dusting the sprinkles. Owen, examining his new magnetic fishing puzzle.

Monday, May 3, 2010. We are slowly moving into our new apartment. This week we are painting, cleaning and getting our garden ready. Yes,. We have a bit of earth (albeit contained within planter boxes) to call our own here in NYC. Our new apartment has a large balcony with a fantastic view of the East River and the Manhattan skyline. Saturday, February 6, 2010. This day came faster than I ever imagined it would. My Maddy turned 8 and prepared to be baptized. She was able to share this special day with her close friend, Laura, who she shares a birthday with. They were born only hours apart, and have been friends since the first week we moved to NYC. Friday, January 15, 2010. Madeline turned 8 on the 15th of January. Going with our low-key birthday theme, we just had a small get-together with a few friends. They met together for about an hour to have some pizza, some cake, and a lot of giggles. Maddy and Eva supplied the decorations. As you can see, it was a "snail" themed party. Frogs and worms were also thrown in for good measure. Time for the wishes and the candle extinguishing. Can you believe she is 8? I cant believe you guys have an 8 year old!
