I ended up with brand new OERs which I bought from Kameari in Tokyo. Triple 45mm OER carbs with L6 manifold and linkages, spare jets, 34mm venturis, heat shield, and fuel float level gauge. The journey of my '73 Datsun 240z. Engine bay finally painted. With uni break and nothing really much to do, after many umms and ahhs, I finally bit the bullet and started taking the car apart to paint the engine bay. I really couldn’t be bothered but I was so embarrassed every time someone asked me to pop the bonnet so I used that as my motivation. First up I had to pull off all the front panels to get easy access and to avoid any over spray. Surprisingly haven’t bottomed out yet. After a bit of a scrub.

Had an appointment today with the club’s inspection officer. I had to fix up the locking rear brakes, indicators and parker lights. He was happy with my repairs and passed the car.
