http://teammayfield.blogspot.com/2014/08/team-mayfield-grand-adventure-2014.html
Sunday, August 24, 2014. Team Mayfield Grand Adventure 2014. In August 2014, members of Team Mayfield gathered in Wyoming for a week of camping, hiking, climbing, paddling, and general adventurous activities. There were too many fun things to capture them all on camera, but I have put together a few of these moments in the following story map. Team Mayfield Grand Adventure 2014. Posted by Joseph Mayfield. Team Mayfield: Trip Report - Mount Whitney
http://teammayfield.blogspot.com/2012/06/trip-report-mount-whitney.html
Friday, June 15, 2012. Trip Report - Mount Whitney. Chris and I left Redlands at 6:00pm and headed north towards HI-395 and Lone Pine. We arrived at the Lone Pine Campground a little before 10:00pm. We found an empty site and quickly set up camp (pitched a tent, stowed food in the bear box, and ate a late night snack). We hiked up the trail until we reached the North Fork of Lone Pine Creek. At that point we split off from the main trail and headed up a steeper narrower trail. It was a relatively warm ni...

Misgnomers & Misterees: Traits of a Good Teacher/Parent
http://www.lizlambson.com/2015/04/traits-of-good-teacherparent.html
Sunday, April 19, 2015. Traits of a Good Teacher/Parent. I'm in a class specifically for teachers and their development. Today in class we went around the room, each sharing about an influential teacher in our lives and what it was about that teacher that made them influential to us. My bass teacher for six years. It is rare for a student to have one-on-one mentoring each week for an hour. He knew me really well. Trusted me to follow through on assignments. Encouraged me to find out more on my own. Remem...

Misgnomers & Misterees: November 2014

Sunday, November 2, 2014. Yo Mama's Chiil Recipe: 5 Peppers • 2 Beans • 2 Pigs. This is a chili recipe I concocted during my junior year at BYU, which has since placed in three chili cook-offs with two first-place wins, including this Trunk or Treat chili cookoff. Hurrah! I shall treasure the wooden soup spoon prize until I die. Using pork sausage or chorizo instead of ground beef is my favorite non-ragu-like element—I think it's more tender and flavorful. 1 pound black beans. 1 pound small red beans.

Sunday, April 19, 2015. Let Them Be Boys. I forgot how often little boys need time with pebbled creeks, time to throw rocks and stir up muddy clouds in the water, time to squeal and stare at beetles and worms while wiping mud on their pants. Traits of a Good Teacher/Parent. I'm in a class specifically for teachers and their development. Today in class we went around the room, each sharing about an influential teacher in our lives and what it was about that teacher that made them influential to us. How ca...

Misgnomers & Misterees: February 2015

Sunday, February 15, 2015. Scientific and Spiritual Laws: An Essay. Thoughts that followed watching this presentation by my friend Amy Williams entitled. Answering New Atheism and Seeking a Sure Knowledge of God". Photo by Marcus Böckmann. Our physical bodies are subject to physical laws; i.e. when we are cut, we bleed. The spiritual body is also subject to spiritual laws: when we do evil (a.k.a. "sin"), there are consequences. But even microscopic and biological activity can be ignored because it isn't ...

My Musings: April 2008
http://melodiousmutt.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
There's a lot of wacky stuff that goes on inside my head. Here's a sampling. Monday, April 28, 2008. So close, yet so far . . . I can scarcely remember being quite so anxious for a semester to end. And while my semester will not officially be done until I turn in the paper (which will undoubtedly be mostly B.S.) for my Intro to Music Research class, in exactly twelve hours, I will be a much freer woman, having just finished my oral presentation for the same class and also my jury. Huzzah! 3 Take a nap.

Well, married life, for those of you keeping score at home, is awesome. Let me paint a picture for you:. Other than that slight mishap, though, it was lovely. Misgnomers & Misterees: September 2014
http://www.lizlambson.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Tonight I helped organize a youth activity to decorate small linen bags and assemble stress-relieve kits to take home. Included in the bag were items the young women suggested:. A hand stress ball. A small glass vial of lavender bubble bath. Am I getting enough sleep? Am I getting enough exercise? Running = medicine.). How's my relationship with my husband? Are we getting enough one-on-one time together? Are we finding enough time to talk and connect? Sitting down and readi...
