Little Twister at the 2014 Vancouver Wooden Boat Festival at Granville Island. Little Twister, a design from Gentry Boats, is a skin on frame kayak. She is 10' long, has a beam of 19.5 and weights 10 pounds. Little Twister was built by Jordyn Tait, who is 8 years old. Congradulations to Jordan and Little Twister for winning the Best Small Boat, skin over wooden frame award at the 2014 Vancouver Wooden Boat Festival! Saravan at the 2014 Vancouver Wooden Boat Festival after crossing the Strait from Ladysmith. The Saravan, a wooden tug boat, was built in1938 at the Stanley Park shipyard in Vancouver, B.C. Saravan was built for Hfarry Van Froome and was named after his wife, Sara Van Fromme. The wooden tug boat worked in local waters for 50 years. During wartime, the Saravan patrolled the waters to protect the naval bast at Esquimalt. The Saravan now resides at the Ladysmityh Maritime Society Marina, to be enjoyed by all.
