Veg with Edge: October 2011
http://vegwithedge.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 22, 2011. Yo Gabba Gabba - again! Tangy and delicious and a nice alternative to the chocolate Peppa Pig cake. Links to this post. After I made the Brobee cake for my eldest son's 3rd birthday, he got in early with an order for his 4th. He wanted Peppa Pig. Like a good mother, I obliged! Once again, I used Nigella Lawson's Sour Cream Chocolate Cake recipe. Links to this post. 1 large eggplant, pierced a few times all over with a fork. 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil. 1 onion, diced.
Veg with Edge: April 2011
http://vegwithedge.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 17, 2011. I'll often make these when I pick up a 1 kg bag of cheap, nearly overripe tomatoes. I prefer to use Romas, as they have more flesh and less seeds. These tomatoes are a great accompaniment to a cooked breakfast (like eggs, mushrooms and haloumi, or corn fritters with avocado and spinach). 1 kg ripe (and overripe) Roma tomatoes, halved lengthways (quartered, if very large). 2 cloves of garlic, peeled and chopped. 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme. 1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary.
Veg with Edge: August 2012
http://vegwithedge.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 22, 2012. For my 40th birthday, my partner and I were looking for somewhere new to try for a special, childless (! Lunch on a day we would otherwise be at work. After canvassing various options, we decided to try out Jamie's Italian. Near the corner of Pitt and Hunter Streets in Sydney. As usual, I looked at various reviews of the restaurant and found they ran the gamut from bemusement ("waited too long for average food") through to culinary rapture ("best.pasta.ever! Parmesan served wi...
Veg with Edge: October 2013

Thursday, October 3, 2013. Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom. Were filled with bug stickers, mint leaves, freckles, a jelly cup, fairy floss and a ladybird chocolate. For the cake, I stuck with my tried and tested frozen butter cream transfer method. I spent a good couple of nights working on the different shades of icing for the picture of Ben, Holly and Gaston. Over the course of a week (an epic undertaking! I used the same Nigella sour cream chocolate cake recipe. Links to this post. What I'm eating today.
Veg with Edge: Haloumi rolls with eggplant, zucchini and capsicum relish
http://vegwithedge.blogspot.com/2014/11/haloumi-rolls-with-eggplant-zucchini.html
Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Haloumi rolls with eggplant, zucchini and capsicum relish. We recently had a spring fair fundraiser at my oldest boy's school. I volunteered to run a vegetarian food stall. Given the popularity of the ubiquitous sausage sizzle, it seemed both fitting and prudent to set up a BBQ alongside it and dish up a vegetarian alternative. After giving it some thought I came up with barbecued eggplant, zucchini and haloumi in a bun with a tangy capsicum relish. Peanut butter and chocolate.

Jo's harvest: Happy basil
http://josharvest.blogspot.com/2014/03/happy-basil.html
One woman's musings on being well while living with MS, and the joy of growing, cooking and eating great food. Friday, March 21, 2014. The basil on our window sill is doing well. I am enjoying watching it grow. I will enjoy it even more when it's ready for harvesting. In the mean time, we get to pinch bits out of the top and eat them in the spirit of making it grow full and lush. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Jo's harvest: November 2010

One woman's musings on being well while living with MS, and the joy of growing, cooking and eating great food. Tuesday, November 30, 2010. When you get down to it, tomatoes are pretty easy to grow, if not to keep disease-free. I've never had any trouble growing tomatoes. But growing really tasty ones? The only thing I can put it down to is that they grew and ripened quickly. But maybe there's something else I'm missing. Do you have a secret for growing really tasty tomatoes? Saturday, November 27, 2010.
Jo's harvest: July 2010

One woman's musings on being well while living with MS, and the joy of growing, cooking and eating great food. Sunday, July 18, 2010. Recipe number two - dahl with spinach. As an undergraduate, I shared a house with someone with a passion for dahl. Whenever it was their turn to cook, we would be presented with this stodgy, oversalted yet curiously bland mass of lentils and rice. I have never recovered from this culinary assault and have thus avoided dahl for nigh on twenty years. Saturday, July 17, 2010.
Jo's harvest: January 2015

One woman's musings on being well while living with MS, and the joy of growing, cooking and eating great food. Friday, January 9, 2015. Hard times in the veggie boxes. The things growing in pots are in a different growing medium and doing well. So, we're starting to see a tiny amount of yield. The good thing about gardening is that it's a marathon not a sprint. I will correct the soil under the cloak of autumn/winter and then be ready to go again. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

I am a food loving coffee snob with a taste for alcohol and an inconsistently green thumb. I live with my lovely partner and our canine pal, the mighty Jezebel. Here, I celebrate my love of (growing, cooking and eating) food while trying to get seriously fit and learning to overcome multiple sclerosis.

Mohla bych z toho udělat pravidelnou rubriku. 1 Když o veganství mluví někdo, kdo tomu nerozumí. Sdílet ve službě Twitter.
