Once upon a time there was a rusty Datsun. Small progress before baby woke up. Drop link bolted up to chassis. Hub and splash shield to backing plate. Backing plate to strut to chassis. Rear lower control arms and spindle pin. Still have to bolt up the dogbone, anti-sway bar and brakes. Then torque them up, set the lengths to the stock control arm, set alignment so I can measure for rear wheels. Goodbye, Mr. K. Katayama Yutaka, father of the Z, passed away at 105 today. Goodbye, Mr. K.

Pinion snubber | Once upon a time there was a rusty Datsun

Once upon a time there was a rusty Datsun. Goodbye, Mr. K →. 4″ distance between nose of the differential and floor. Removed the diff and marked the ideal place so I can drill holes. Turns out the ideal place would put the snubber nut inside the tool box area in the cabin. And that area is not flat. Crap. Need to rethink this strategy. Will probably need to weld a bar in that area in the tunnel instead and mount the snubber there. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Goodbye, Mr. K.

About | Once upon a time there was a rusty Datsun
https://slownrusty.wordpress.com/about
Once upon a time there was a rusty Datsun. I like Datsun Z cars. So in 2009 I bought one. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with it, but I had plans for slight modifications. This blog is an attempt to document those modifications. A lot of people have asked, why not just buy a new car? This is my first project car. There will be lots of mistakes. I’m hoping to learn and have a fun, daily-driveable car at the end. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).
