Then we ascended into the cloud forest, a breathtaking, car sickening, and sometimes terrifying experience, because at some points it looked like the driver was going by memory, since sight was not possible. I've concluded one thing: Ecuadorians are insane drivers! Terrain changed from tropical to desolate paramo in Las Cajas national park. We actually saw llamas! Sorry, call...

volcanoes&cathedrals: Inspiration in Riobamba

http://volcanoescathedrals.blogspot.com/2007/08/inspiration-in-riobamba.html

Tuesday, August 28, 2007. There is one area (idea) that Trudy and I toss around like a ping pong ball that tugs at our hearts…but are we the right people? My first encounter with an orphanage was filled with questions. I wanted to know how it worked? Where did the kids come from? How did it get funding? Were the kids getting the education they needed? Were they fed and clothed properly? What were the sleeping arrangements like? What happens after they reach “of age”? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Volcanoes and other races

Volcanoes and other races. Training as well as general thoughts and rants. Wednesday, February 19, 2014. First 6 Weeks of 2014 - The Mental Rollercoaster. So, a few comments from people, reminded me that it was time for an update. As I said, I decided to break the time left to Lanzarote up into 3, 6 week periods, to help with aims and objectives and to try and stay out of the "cabin." However I didn't get off to a good start. Activity wise, I helped marshall the Fingal Tri Club duathlon. The weather ...

Most people know little about volcanoes but a visit to the Penshurst Volcanoes Discovery Centre has people leaving with a lot more knowledge. A visit to Penshurst should also include a climb of Mount Rouse, our very own dormant volcano.
