laura in real life: June 2015
http://laurainreallife.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 28, 2015. Life on the farm. I'm living with my parents right now. I don't know for how long. Life is different here. They've moved here since I left home, so the surroundings are all new to me. It's not really a farm, but there are farm-like qualities to it. Lots of land around it. Lots of animals around it. Lots of greenery around it. I'm really concerned that the cows aren't getting enough sleep. Just a random genius. Monday, June 8, 2015. Things you should never say. Log on to facebook or...

Called to Serve: Embracing the opportunities
http://farandwidehisloveproclaim.blogspot.com/2012/10/embracing-opportunities.html
Monday, October 15, 2012. October has come and our mission is flying by! Elder Whiting informs me we only have 7 months left. Since we have been here in Lafayette, it has been so busy that the time just passes and we do not know where it goes. Today is Curtis' birthday and Wendy and Jeff's anniversary! Just thinking about family. They were all very kind and fussed over the kids. They did listen to us! This week we are making pumpkin bars with a yellow cake mix for Institute. With a little whipped cre...

Called to Serve
http://farandwidehisloveproclaim.blogspot.com/2012/09/week-ago-lafayette-bishopric-member.html
Monday, September 10, 2012. A week ago, the Lafayette Bishopric member asked me to give a talk from Isaiah on "waiting on the Lord." He ask us to share, if we could, experiences of waiting on the Lord and the lessons that we have learned from doing that. This is a copy of the talk I wrote: I am grateful that the Lord gave me this opportunity so I could record these experiences. Suddenly I felt the jerk when my car's tire hit something and exploded! As I pondered the situation, later, I realized that the ...

laura in real life: September 2014
http://laurainreallife.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 29, 2014. That time when you post on your blog and nobody comments. Just a random genius. Friday, September 19, 2014. The Great Creativity Drought. Hey peeps. Ready for a fascinating and revealing monologue? Well too bad. It's just me. I've noticed that since my roomie moved out a year ago - two years ago? Sad, sad, sad. This translates to less desire to write. Blog. Pursue any long-term goals. Not to come off as a whiner or anything, but I actually hoped for more from my life than this.

laura in real life: January 2015
http://laurainreallife.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 30, 2015. Goal 99: Eat a Century Egg. My brother-in-law went to Singapore last year, and while there he ate a century egg. I had never heard of such a thing, so I did some intensive investigation (a google search) and discovered that century eggs are duck eggs which have been put into some sort of preserving solution, and over the course of a few months the whites turn black and the yolk turns dark green. Sound delicious so far? Will you be trying a century egg anytime soon? The informati...

laura in real life: November 2014
http://laurainreallife.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 21, 2014. This having my house on the market thing is starting to get old. Although I have. Been having a lot of showings lately. I think my house may be the last one left on the market. The last showing I had, the people were uber-nosy. I mean, usually people come and look through stuff, but then they put it back the way it was. Turn off the lights, close closet doors, etc. But these people did not. I feel so violated! Just a random genius. Tuesday, November 18, 2014. And I was so busy ...

laura in real life: Potential Cartoon Laura
http://laurainreallife.blogspot.com/2015/07/potential-cartoon-laura.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. If I had the time, I would so totally make this into a Cartoon Laura. Last week, my sister, Alysa, had two stray kittens end up in her yard. She took them in. Then one died. She came over to my parents' house to bury it in their pasture. Here's how it went down. First, Alysa is roughly twelve months pregnant, and she was trying to dig a hole. I figured she might need some help, so I followed her out to the pasture. And third, there were cows. So she said something that fit the sole...

laura in real life: March 2015
http://laurainreallife.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 19, 2015. Religious discrimination, 2015 style. I heard the prosecutors talking in hushed tones the other day about another lawyer. He's so out of touch," one prosecutor said. "You know, he went to a church. The way she said "church school" made it clear that this was on par with something aberrant. Outlandish. Unnatural. The implication was clear to me: Church school equals a next-to-worthless education. No idea, and it doesn't matter either. The insinuation was that any. I'm as sick as ...

laura in real life: Green eyes?
http://laurainreallife.blogspot.com/2015/05/green-eyes.html
Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Here's something interesting I heard at the storymakers conference in one of the classes. The teacher said, "Stop giving your characters green eyes! Two percent of the population has green eyes, yet characters in books all over the place are popping up with green eyes! Therefore green eyes always seemed boring to me. If I gave a character green eyes, it was because I wanted them to be dull. Personally, I always desperately wanted brown or blue eyes. Just a random genius. Hazel My...
