http://marchinlviv.blogspot.com/2011/01/domodedovo-airport-bombing.html
Getting to and getting around. Wednesday, January 26, 2011. But our trip to Ukraine has been on my mind since news. Of the Domodedovo airport bombing broke. You can see the footage authorities released at that link. Shadow women and men wheeling luggage. The second time the loops shows them, you watch and wish they'd walk slower. And everything explodes again. Safe travels; heart goes out to everyone impacted. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. About March in Lviv.

brick house: A Four Year Hiatus
http://ourbrickhouse.blogspot.com/2011/01/four-year-hiatus.html
Wednesday, January 26, 2011. A Four Year Hiatus. Our first child's birth coincided with our adoption of Facebook. Took the momentum out of this blog and the one we'd started for him as well. In the way of most hopes and dreams, our shifted and gave way to new priorities. But something's been on my mind for about two years and this seemed like as good a place as any to address is. Tuesday, October 03, 2006. How do you roll? There has to be a blog dedicated to photos taken from offices with killer views. Office porn. If you like, though I'm sure clicking on that link will take you to many many web pages filled with explicit images of "secretaries" and "bosses daughters" demonstrating innovative uses for office chairs. I'm posting this shot taken from my office though in the spirit of the gone but not forgotten Photoshop Tennis. Or maybe Kitten War. Where our boy Tuncer.

brick house: With the Spurs up by 30...
http://ourbrickhouse.blogspot.com/2006/04/with-spurs-up-by-30.html
Saturday, April 22, 2006. With the Spurs up by 30. I'm packing some calories in as we head into the last few hours before our "Did he, or didn't he? Dinner. Where we'll open up our long standing debate, over whether or not Werner Herzog really did eat his shoe. To friends. A. contends no way. I'm a Werner-ite, and I glory in it. It may be a thinly veiled excuse to grab some screen time on day one of the NBA Playoffs - the Spurs are up by 34 over the Kings. The Grand Lake Farmers' Market. Sweep, and wipe.

brick house: Soldiers and Suits
http://ourbrickhouse.blogspot.com/2006/03/soldiers-and-suits.html
Tuesday, March 07, 2006. A couple of days before I started gathering images for my post on the geo-political nuances of the housing market. We noticed a building in West Oakland. A counter example might be the comic strip Get Your War On. To some extent,. Get Your War On. Capitalizes on a technique popularized in Red Meat. Each strip relies on stereotypically representative characters, who say unexpected things. Something about the mural also reminded me of figures we'd seen at a war protest. A group...

brick house: Kernighan vs. Allison in City Council District 2
http://ourbrickhouse.blogspot.com/2006/09/kernighan-vs-allison-in-city-council.html
Sunday, September 17, 2006. Kernighan vs. Allison in City Council District 2. The runoff election between Pat Kernighan. In Oakland's City Council District 2 has been on my mind all weekend. I drove down Trestle Glen Road. Friday night, and the only yard signs I saw were in support of Pat Kernighan. On MacArthur boulevard there was an apartment building sporting easily 10 Aimee Allison signs. The thing is, Pat Kernighan wanted no part of it. Just before the election earlier this year, the Oakland Tribune.

brick house: Lights out
http://ourbrickhouse.blogspot.com/2005/12/lights-out.html
Saturday, December 17, 2005. We took our annual Christmas walk through the neighborhood the other night. We usually stick to our side of the lake, but this year we crossed over the 580 freeway and followed Trestle Glen Road. For a few blocks before heading up into the hills between Grand Lake. It turned out that he lived on Trestle Glen and was considering buying a place in our neighborhood for his daughter. A tree full of these is pretty impressive:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Taking it all in.

brick house: A Partial Triumph
http://ourbrickhouse.blogspot.com/2006/03/partial-triumph.html
Saturday, March 04, 2006. As a long time fan of Apple. I am familiar with the concept of the reality distortion field. The uncanny ability that S.Jobs has to make merely incremental improvements seem profound, is legend among Mac cultists. With plans shaping up for our garden out front, and March closing in fast, we knew that we'd have to remove the paint before we put anything in the soil. So, we hit craigslist. And cross-referenced the UC Berkeley Parents Network. And found someone to remove the paint.

brick house: Soup and Ice Cream for Dinner
http://ourbrickhouse.blogspot.com/2006/04/soup-and-ice-cream-for-dinner.html
Thursday, April 13, 2006. Soup and Ice Cream for Dinner. It had been a long time since I visited a dentist. Ultimately A. would have to insist. And when she did, it was a short hop from dentist to oral surgeon. You may be asking yourself what the appropriate photo for this post will be. Despite the three (3) teeth in a small manilla envelope on my dining table, I thought we'd go picture free -. But it should contribute greatly to the health of my mouth. Where straight teeth in your mouth.
