My study abroad experience! December 3, 2012. I’ve been back for 6 months. The half a year I lived in England, the 6 months I was gone, is now the same amount of time that I have been a returned traveler living in the US. It’s also weird to think that this time last year, I had a month left to prep for my departure on the adventure of a lifetime, and now I’m just… back. June 27, 2012. I think I might just halfway live out of my suitcase so I won’t have to keep unpacking and rearranging things. I’ll...

The Final Lap | wanderingandnotlost

https://wanderingandnotlost.wordpress.com/2012/06/24/the-final-lap-2

My study abroad experience! June 24, 2012. I’ll be on a plane back home to L.A. in 9 days. 9. Last weekend, my friends and I went shopping for Ascot and bought our hats finally! Then this past Monday I went to the X-Factor auditions in Newcastle. We had to wait outside in the queue area for a really long time, but once we got inside it was really fun. Most of the audition performances were actually good, so it felt more like a fun concert rather than a painful talent show. Such a fun day! I got to see Pl...

The Countdown has begun. | wanderingandnotlost

My study abroad experience! The Countdown has begun. June 4, 2012. A month from now it will be the 4th of July, and I will be home. Not one of the many places I’ve called home over the last few years, but back to my house with my family. That just feels crazy and almost nonsensical. Now for some updates! I’ve not been sleeping well and as such I feel run down and tired a lot. My usual headaches are worse too since I’m not properly rested. Hopefully this will pass soon though. I can’t wait for Ascot.

Just some thoughts | wanderingandnotlost

https://wanderingandnotlost.wordpress.com/2012/06/27/just-some-thoughts

My study abroad experience! June 27, 2012. Already my room seems barer. As I take things down and organize my clothing, the usual anxieties about space constraints are here, but I’m also conscious of the melancholy strangeness of packing up my life here. I think I might just halfway live out of my suitcase so I won’t have to keep unpacking and rearranging things. My essay is really boring to write, and I picked the most interesting topic. The fact that I was even given a choice of topics is odd. The Coun...

Bird to Travel to Bird

Bird to Travel to Bird. The adventures (and misadventures) of a sometime wildlife biologist, sometime wildlife tour guide. Sunday, June 29, 2014. A year in review. I haven't posted in a while - my regular readers probably know why. Overall, I've been keeping busy. But I took the time to summarize 2013 - which included 4 different field projects over 6 months, a week long vacation in Canada, and a visit from family. So, take a gander at my video below. 2013 - a year in pictures and video. Where do I begin?

Wandering & Blathering

Book blog plus TV, movies and general culture. Blog 2nd subtitle caption. Earnest, meaningful and slightly sarcastic -. Saturday, September 10, 2016. Role Models: Corinne Bailey Rae. About her insights about being aware of ourselves, our surroundings and other deep meaningful things. Her approach is very feelings-oriented, as she is in the creative/artistic field, but for someone who prefers facts and is simply cynical like I am, the podcasts still resonated with me and I found them very valuable. Guest Post: My Barcelona Nightlife Experience. We can stay out as long as we want. I remember I had to ask him to repeat himself as I’ve never heard of it before. So he began to explain how it works. He mentioned free drinks and meet new friends and we were sold. Neither I nor my friend has done it before so we thought it would be a good experience. As it turned out, the place where we met the guy was right outside the Gaelic BCN which happened to be the meeting point of the joiners of Pub Crawl Barcelona.

Not All Who Wander Are Lost .but we are. A log of the adventures of Al and Jen, mostly so people will know where to start looking for us. Sunday, December 20, 2009. After All, Home Is Where Your Rump Rests. Right? I really didn't expect to be blogging again. When I got home, I briefly started another blog, Three Dot Monte. The question Jen and I are wrestling with is simply this: When is enough enough? The answer, after much fighting, praying, and crying, is January 24th. That's when Jen and I will d...
