Bens Boats: September 2010
http://bensboats.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 16, 2010. On to the leeboard and bracket. The leeboard is carved out of a solid piece of white ash, beautiful stuff. I used the method I read about on Duckworks Magazine. Then sanded nice and smooth. As you can see, I still haven't gotten around to painting it. still a little unsure about the color, help me decide by voting in the poll on the right side of the page - -. The leeboard pivots on a 1/2" stainless steel bolt, with large stainless steel "thumb" nuts. These are relativel...

Sunday, April 17, 2011. Skinning the Sea Tour 17 EXP. Finally posting again. it has been a while! I have made some more progress in getting the "skin" installed. Instead if seal skins (I couldn't find any locally.) I am using 18oz Vinyl Coated Polyester. Tarp material. This fabric is REALLY tough! You can see in this picture how tough this fabric is. The lacing is under a lot of tension, however the slits in the fabric do not tear; even cutting them with a razor knife was pretty hard! My first attempt at...

Bens Boats: April 2012
http://bensboats.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Kids Greenland Paddle - Part 1. Until it's warm enough for epoxy, I can't really get much done on Sara's kayak. So, I decided to make her a greenland style paddle. There are a variety of resources available on the internet describing how to estimate sizing them, I used the Qajak USA recommendations. The next step will be to plane the blades to the correct shape and sand it smooth. Finally, I'll apply an oil finish. Wednesday, April 18, 2012. It is called the " Io. I was asked to ...

The Adventures of Super Boo!!: July 2008
http://theadventuresofsuperboo.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
The Adventures of Super Boo! Tuesday, July 8, 2008. It's been a long time coming, Boo is back! Off the bench so to speak. The Doc has given the nod to hit the water. Swim paddle splash around, all the things that a kid want to do on their summer vacation. Boo is on the fast track to tune up her paddling skills for the Manistee 150. We plan to go un-ranked as Boo's sister M&M wants to paddle as well. So we'll be cruising with 3 in the boat. Fast touring. Big thanks to Mark and our sponsor Kruger Canoes.

Please visit our home site at www.TRILOBOATS.com. Anke and I are building our next boat, and writing about it at ABargeInTheMaking.blogspot.com. Access to the net comes and goes, so I'll be writing in fits and spurts. Nautical mil...
