Albert McClenaghan’s Throw-In (and other stories): The greatest hits album

Albert McClenaghan’s Throw-In (and other stories). The ramblings of a middle-aged Watford fan. Sunday, 14 June 2015. The greatest hits album. Two of my personal favourites are memories from my childhood. Confessions of the world’s worst ballboy. Features my inglorious contribution to a long-forgotten pre-season friendly at the Vic, while Just once, oh lord…. The demolition of the old Main Stand the season before last sparked reminiscences (pithily entitled Main Stand memories. Is about just that; my conv...

Albert McClenaghan’s Throw-In (and other stories). The ramblings of a middle-aged Watford fan. Saturday, 4 July 2015. I’m probably late to the party with this one, but it was only on reading the latest issue of Mojo. That I discovered that Johnny Keating has died. No, not a long-lost Watford midfielder from the 1970s, but a significant figure in Hornets history nevertheless; Keating was the man who composed the Z-Cars. Albert McClenaghan’s Throw-In (and other stories): Telling tales

http://watfordthrowin.blogspot.com/2015/03/telling-tales.html

Albert McClenaghan’s Throw-In (and other stories). The ramblings of a middle-aged Watford fan. Sunday, 15 March 2015. The most unusual story (and thank goodness for that) was the one that led to the emotional shows of support for Nic Cruwys before and during the game; the players’ T-shirts, a giant banner, a moving round of applause during the 44th minute, more during the half-time interview with Ollie Floyd. Little that occurred during the match roused the crowd to such levels of passion. 8221; from all...

Albert McClenaghan’s Throw-In (and other stories). The ramblings of a middle-aged Watford fan. Wednesday, 19 August 2015. But on the evidence of the West Brom game, there’s no reason to doubt the quality each individual brings. Still, one swallow doesn’t make a summer and all that. I think I’ll wait till the transfer window closes and make my decision in early September, when I’ve had a bit more chance to assess the candidates. It’s a nice choice to have to make. Albert McClenaghan’s Throw-In (and other stories). The ramblings of a middle-aged Watford fan. Sunday, 30 November 2014. 8220;As for Cardiff, they were on the back foot for most of the match, and restricted to just a handful of attempts on goal…”. Of course, this imaginary match report on yesterday’s proceedings omits two crucial details: that Cardiff scored in the first quarter of an hour, and that Watford failed to score at all. But my intention (apart from to confuse future readers of this b...The oth...

Posted by Matt Rowson in Thoughts about things. Williamson in second place is quite interesting, as is that Lloydy was in the lead until Smudger’s hat-trick of assists at Layer Road in December. Of Bromby’s two assists, only one was a throw and that’ll be the one we all remember. And if anyone suggests that Douglas Rinaldi’s assist against Gillingham provides cast iron proof that he should have been in the team all season, I shall not be responsible for my actions…. Our beloved Vicarage Road has been a three sided building site for longer than I care to remember. We’ve spent and wasted a lot of money. We once signed Kerry Dixon and Micky Quinn. We hired Dave Bassett. It’s not just the big, well publicised projects that count though. It can be the little things that make the biggest difference. After what felt like a rather rambling explanation of what I wanted to talk about with the BBC researcher, I was promised a call back. Aware I was a bit worse for wear and that after too much Peroni I probably sounded worse than I felt, I wasn’t holding my breath. Moments later however, the phone burst into life and I was told I’d be on air shortly. I don’t like Watford fans. If you found more than a handful that did.

Let’s all laugh at Robbie…. Reasons to be cheerful: 1, 2, 3. →. December 15, 2010 · 1:16 pm. From the Rookery End with thanks…. Being a football fan isn’t always easy. It’s an expensive, time consuming way of life that more often than not leaves you feeling drained, disappointed and depressed.
