Oodles of Doodles: August 2012
http://satan-loves-you.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
The Sketches of Wayne Chisnall. Sunday, 5 August 2012. For the past few months I've been working a new project, developing some cartoon characters for a new children's product. It's early days yet so it's probably best not to give away too many details but for a little more info and to see how some of my designs have been colourised and digitised you can check out Go With The Glo. Sculpture. See – it all ties in (and who said my work was too diverse). Here is a bee-like creature that owes more than a pas...

Postcards from Holly: I met a different him on a different subway
http://postcardsfromholly.blogspot.com/2011/07/i-met-different-him-on-different-subway.html
Friday, 8 July 2011. I met a different him on a different subway. Only be five minutes late. Which is totally acceptable in my book. I just needed a clear route with nothing to slow me down. But, this is London, awash with fucking foreigners. Having lived here for 12 years, I no longer consider myself to be a fucking foreigner –. Am a native. And so I set off on my mission impossible. Best escalator/suitcase practice dictates that you should always place your suitcase on the step. You and not on the step.

Oodles of Doodles: April 2013
http://satan-loves-you.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
The Sketches of Wayne Chisnall. Saturday, 6 April 2013. Darn, it looks like I've definitely been neglecting my poor little doodle blog lately. Never mind - daddy's back now! Okay - lets post a few pictures. These two postcard-sized drawings are two thirds of my submissions to this year's RCA Secret. And this is the photocopy. Okay – I know that this isn't a drawing but it's the third 'postcard' that I exhibited in this year's RCA Secret show so I thought that I'd show it to you. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Oodles of Doodles: October 2013
http://satan-loves-you.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
The Sketches of Wayne Chisnall. Saturday, 26 October 2013. Orifice Box Sketch (with Teeth). As some of you may know, I've been working on a series of wooden box sculptures that feature carved orifices. This sketch, from my pocket sketchbook, shows an idea that I've had for a possible future orifice box sculpture - one that has teeth. Monday, 14 October 2013. It also features as one of my Inktober. Drawings on my Twitter page. Saturday, 12 October 2013. It's sometimes odd what comes out when you decide to...

Postcards from Holly: How the 2013 Venice Biennale made us think about climate change
http://postcardsfromholly.blogspot.com/2013/11/how-2013-venice-biennale-made-us-think.html
Sunday, 24 November 2013. How the 2013 Venice Biennale made us think about climate change. The temperature is rising, everyone is enjoying the sun, but there is a slight niggling thought at the back of people's minds that maybe this is to do with global warming. And the guilt sets in, despite the fact that we're delighted to finally see that burning yellow orb back in the sky for the summer. Alfredo Jaar's main installation at the Chilean. A version of this article originally appeared on FAD in July 2013.

Postcards from Holly: The Dance of Attraction
http://postcardsfromholly.blogspot.com/2011/06/dance-of-attraction.html
Monday, 13 June 2011. The Dance of Attraction. Zzzappp. There it is. That spark of attraction. It hits you the first time you spot him. You glance at him, quickly scanning him up and down, checking for any flaws or imperfections that might cause you to think twice, but nothing catches your eye in a negative way. Your eyes meet. You smile. If he smiles back, you raise your eyes to meet his again. If not, you let your brain move to the next thing on your agenda for the day. Posted by Holly Howe. The Dance ...

Oodles of Doodles: July 2012
http://satan-loves-you.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
The Sketches of Wayne Chisnall. Monday, 9 July 2012. The City (working drawings). Here are a few of my working drawings, rough sketches and the sculpture (The City) that they eventually led to. Friday, 6 July 2012. Here's another one of the quick drawings that I made whilst looking away from the page. There's something about the freedom of line the process gives that I wish I could consciously achieve whilst drawing normaly. Oh well! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Oodles of Doodles: Rob Pruitt's Flea Market – Venice Biennale 2015
http://satan-loves-you.blogspot.com/2015/04/rob-pruitts-flea-market-venice-biennale.html
The Sketches of Wayne Chisnall. Tuesday, 21 April 2015. Rob Pruitt's Flea Market – Venice Biennale 2015. To say that I've been looking forward to the opening of this year's Venice Biennale. And the party/private view week that precedes it) is a bit of an understatement, but now I have even more reason to be excited about it – even if it does mean that I won't be running around and checking out as quite many events as much as I'd like. Will be hosting the Rob Pruitt's Flea Market, Venice. As well as those...

Postcards from Holly: Riding on trains
http://postcardsfromholly.blogspot.com/2011/08/riding-on-trains.html
Wednesday, 3 August 2011. I feel like I’ve done quite a lot of riding on trains in the past few months. It’s always a pleasant experience – an opportunity to read your book, do some writing, or just gaze out the window, letting your mind go for a walk. And it. However, despite all of this, one of my favourite train journeys was a rough and ready jaunt from Bentota to Colombo. The two hour journey along the west coast of Sri Lanka was ca. People bustled up and down the train, selling dried peppers as snac...

Postcards from Holly: Eastern Promise - London's Best East End Galleries
http://postcardsfromholly.blogspot.com/2013/07/eastern-promise-londons-best-east-end.html
Saturday, 20 July 2013. Eastern Promise - London's Best East End Galleries. So waaaaaaaay back in November 2012, I wrote an article for Uno Stile di Vita, the glossy magazine for guests of the Baglioni Hotel Group. It wasn't published until Spring 2013, and then it took me a while to get hold of the PDFs, and even longer to reformat them (shout out to Neil Googe. For his help with that), but here it is at long last. Posted by Holly Howe. Labels: brick lane galleries. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
