Steph in Burkina Faso. Peace Corps 2005-2007, Peace Corps Response 2010. Sunday, March 14, 2010. It's been a while since I posted a blog, but I don't really feel like I have all that much to report. Oh - one fun thing I get to do this week is Skype with my friend's classroom in Chicago! Or send me stuff:.

Steph in Burkina Faso. Peace Corps 2005-2007, Peace Corps Response 2010. Sunday, June 10, 2007. Well I've finished. I have checked out of village, said my goodbyes, and by next Friday I will no longer be an official Peace Corps Volunteer. How do I feel? All mixed emotions, as you may imagine. Obviously I'm thrilled that I'll be rejoining my family and friends and old life again. but the departure from village was way sadder than I was imagining it would be. Let me backtrack . See you very, very soon!

Steph in Burkina Faso: sooooo Burkina
http://stephinbf.blogspot.com/2010/02/sooooo-burkina.html
Steph in Burkina Faso. Peace Corps 2005-2007, Peace Corps Response 2010. Friday, February 12, 2010. What I love most about this country, hands down, is the people. Burkinabe people are the warmest and most welcoming people I’ve ever met. They can also frustrate the heck out of you, but mostly because of cultural misunderstandings and differences. After wanting to just hate a person, they can flash a smile and say something funny that completely makes your mood do a 180. Burkina Moment # 1. Interestingly ...

FYI: The Retartist.
http://sweet-nectar.blogspot.com/2005/09/retartist.html
Monday, September 19, 2005. Retarded, plus artist. Retartist. That's me. At least the teacher seems nice. Although, I can't tell if his comments are more words of encouragement, or that he is so dumbfounded by my utter incompetence that he is unable to muster anything else. I'm hard at work at the drawing board, and he'll look over my shoulder, saying:. Encouraging Interpretation: "This is starting to look like an actual painting.". T: "I like how this has an abstract style.". So, we move from pastels to...

Wednesday, July 20, 2005. Wait a second, it's President Bush we're talking about here. That's when you realize. Looks uncannily like Larry Hagman, J.R. from '80s TV's Dallas. I can imagine the thought process that went into this one. VICE PRESIDENT CHENEY: Now, Mr. President, there are a clear number of leading candidates to replace Justice O'Connor. PRESIDENT BUSH: This decision will not be easy, but I will do what I believe to be just and right. PRESIDENT BUSH: Well, slap my hog, if it isn't J.R!

http://sweet-nectar.blogspot.com/2005/10/achieving-seniority.html
Friday, October 14, 2005. Today, I received a nominal name change; a promotion, if you want to split hairs. Now I have to remove the "Applications Engineer" moniker from my license plate holder, and hit up the trophy shop for a "Senior Applications Engineer" desk engraving. What does a Senior Applications Engineer do? Well, let me summarize:. Affinity for fresh ingredients a must; willingness to accept new sandwich challenges, double meat offers a plus. Proficiency in bread, sauce and pepper selectio...

http://sweet-nectar.blogspot.com/2005/11/roadie-for-day.html
Monday, November 14, 2005. Roadie for a Day. Hey Peter Frampton, do you like toast too? As do I. It is warm and crispy. And the perfect place for jelly to lay. Now get away from me Frampton, I ain't got shit to say to you! And I had every opportunity. Trey took a few steps, turned to me, and offered a genuine "Thank you. Thanks a lot." And that was that. Friday, June 24, 2005. Get Off My Lawn. Ray is bummed today since his law firm buddies ditched him for a weekend of camping in favor of girls (they ruin everything). "Yeah, that's the reason I brought up the H2 and the rifles. wanna see the rifles? Unbeknownst to me, there has been an AK-47 in my apartment for a week now. Five guns total. We are officially the most fortified compound in the Marina. And now, a rip off LCD Soundsystem:. Posted by Jeff @ 12:00 AM. San Francisco, California, United States.
