Monday, 17 August 2009. Sorry for the gap in posting; I've been down in Auckland for the weekend - where I just happened to capture this beautiful kaka, one of New Zealand's native parrots feeding in my friend's backyard. It's very, very unusual to see this bird in the suburbs so I was very lucky - and I've sent this onto the North Shore City Council who always like to hear about sightings like this one. 18 August 2009 at 7:08 PM.
