Jul 3, 2015. Today I began a very ‘unique’ waistcoat, in that it’s drafted using Devere’s 1866 manual, has an 1890s or later styled collar, and is made out of a bright and very cheerful pink cotton seersucker fabric. So no, this is not period correct at all. Constructing a Jetted Pocket. Mar 11, 2015. Drafting a Gentleman’s Night Cap. Oct 27, 2012. Constructing Plait Pockets in a Frock Coat. Aug 16, 2012. Mark the horizontal line first with tailor’s chalk, and then mark the exact lengths. I made mine 5 inches which would be appropriate for something like a vest, but if you expect to get your hand inside, 7 to 8 inches is more appropriate. Jul 3, 2015. Today I began a very ‘unique’ waistcoat, in that it’s drafted using Devere’s 1866 manual, has an 1890s or later styled collar, and is made out of a bright and very cheerful pink cotton seersucker fabric. So no, this is not period correct at all — rather it’s for a member of Connecticut Valley Field Music. For wear during the hot and humid summer when we don’t want to wear the wool frock coats.
