A place to ponder the awe and mystery of God in everyday life. Beyond Question: Why do you doubt? He said to them, “Why are you frightened, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? It seems to me that Christians have often confused doubting with questioning. My first training was in medicine. In that field, like in any of the science fields, students are rewarded for questioning. Questioning leads to deeper understanding, and that is always a good thing. My most recent bike.). A few years later I married ...

A place to ponder the awe and mystery of God in everyday life. A darling little boy ready for baptism in our new latino ministry. He was one of three beautiful children baptized on that day of celebration. He doesn’t say much, but he seems to know that he is loved here. And for that I am grateful. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. A place to ponder the awe and mystery of God in everyday life. May God make your year a happy one! Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,. But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;. Not by making your path easy,. But by making you sturdy to travel any path;. Not by taking hardships from you,. But by taking fear from your heart;. Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,. But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;. Not by making your life always pleasant,. When an alcoholic goes t...

A place to ponder the awe and mystery of God in everyday life. We Ain’t Poor. Sermon preached at Faith Lutheran Church, Janesville, WI on August 4, 2013 by Pastor Anne Andert. 8220;We Ain’t Poor”. Alan and Elsie Sinclair were poor by many standards. They lived in a small, drafty broken down trailer home. They wore old, patched hand-me-down clothing. Yet they graciously and generously shared with us from what they had. In the evening as we sat around their modest kitchen table we guessed at what we were e...

A place to ponder the awe and mystery of God in everyday life. There’s a Woman in the Pulpit: Christian clergywomen share their hard days, holy moments and the healing power of humor. With a clergy husband, I had a pretty good idea of the life of a pastor. Or so I thought. The implications of this are truly significant. While nearly all clergy struggle with loneliness and isolation, the health impact on women is even greater than that of men. It is difficult for women to thrive in congregational ...Someh...

https://liturgylink.wordpress.com/2012/02/08/commissioning-and-benediction-back-out-into-the-world
A community creating for the relentless return of Sunday. Commissioning and benediction back out into the world. Submitted by Gord Waldie. St Paul’s United Church, Grande Prairie, Alberta. Our time of worship concludes, we go back out into the world. Here we have met the God who chooses to make us clean. And, having been healed, what is our response? We share the love of God with all we meet, for they too have been made clean. Always and all ways. May God bless and keep you this day and forevermore.

A place to ponder the awe and mystery of God in everyday life. Beyond Question: Do you have anything to eat? While in their joy they were disbelieving and still wondering, [Jesus] said to them, “Have you anything here to eat? Jesus dies. Jesus returns. He is alive. People we love die and go to heaven where we expect to meet them again for eternity. How is that different from the relationship we have with Jesus who died and is alive again? What difference does Jesus make in your daily life? The cross....
