Writing on the Page: Sunday haiku

Writing on the Page. Sunday, April 25, 2010. Turtle in the road. Destined to become roadkill. Swerving car saves life. National poetry writing month. I love happy endings! April 26, 2010 at 5:03 PM. Karen - Hee hee, me too! Luckily there was enough room in the road (i.e. no cars coming in the other direction) for me to make the swerve. April 27, 2010 at 8:46 AM. Writing on the Page: excuses

http://writingonthepage.blogspot.com/2010/04/excuses.html

Writing on the Page. Saturday, April 24, 2010. A poor workman always blames his tools. Failing that, he blames his surroundings, his environment. Excuses, all of them. There are many excuses to not write. I don't have time for this. I can't think of anything to say. It's so loud in here I can't hear myself think. It's too quiet in here. That dripping faucet is driving me crazy. My pen ran out of ink. The pencil lead broke. My laptop caught a virus. My eyes are crossed from exhaustion. Great job with this!

Photography of the Hills: December 2009

http://photohills.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 30, 2009. I decided to go through my archives and pick one photo from each month of this year to show as a round-up/review kind of thing. I tried my best to pick images that I haven't shown before, but a few here and there were part of collages over on my other blog. January '09 - empty peanut feeder. February '09 - porch swing detail. March '09 - shepherd's hook in dew and fog (detail). April '09 - Tools. May '09 - Too hot and tired to move. June '09 - box turtle shell remnant. I'm H...

Photography of the Hills: February 2010

http://photohills.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 23, 2010. I spent some time this past weekend at Ash Cave in the Hocking Hills region. While I'm all for the wide-angle shots that seem to be required of something as large as this ice formation, I'm more about the macro shots as I'm sure you know by now. Interesting, but not terribly unique. But then I looked around and found a few more twigs under the ice, finally landing on one that was very unique. Giving the impression of a hand reaching out of the ice. How cool is that? For the fu...

Photography of the Hills: April 2010

http://photohills.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, April 29, 2010. Overall, the shot is not as awesome as I had hoped it would be, but I'm still glad I took it anyway. Links to this post. Labels: black and white. Tuesday, April 27, 2010. I've taken so many dandelion photos recently that I thought it might be nice to make a collage of them. I put this one together with the aid of Picasa (i.e. choose pictures and click a button), but it's not quite what I had imagined. I might have to try a different one that I put together myself. I believe thes...

Sorry, I'll move on from these flower photos eventually. I decided to play with this one in Corel Painter Essentials, using a watercolor option, and this was the result. It's always fun to play around with images, to turn them into something new. Links to this post. Monday, March 8, 2010. Links to this post. All images are ...

Sunday, January 24, 2010. One of the many things about trees that fascinates me: bark. This is the bark of the Eastern Hemlock. Photographed this weekend at Old Man's Cave in the Hocking Hills region of Ohio, where I spent a couple of hours hiking with my blogging friend Meg ( Art of Rustic.
