Halley’s Comet – hbutter13
https://hbutter13.wordpress.com/2015/04/02/halleys-comet
April 2, 2015. Halley’s Comet has long been one of my favorite objects in our solar system because I grew up thinking we shared the same name (it was much later that I found out the spelling is different) so it has always been one of my life goals to see it come by. Unfortunately, I have a while to wait because it’s next perihelion (point when it is closest to the sun) is not until 2061. Shouldn’t if have just passed through and gotten kicked back out? When was it first discovereed? Please log in using o...

March 14, 2015. Is a hypothetical matter that neither emits nor absorbs light or any other electromagnetic radiations so that it cannot be seen with any telescopes nowadays. According to the standard model of cosmology, the total mass-energy of the known universe contains 4.9% ordinary matter, 26.8% dark matter and 68.3% dark energy. Angular fluctuations in the ...

Blogging about my Astronomy class at Vanderbilt University. Global Warming – Who’s to Blame? Nowadays, the issue of global warming has been growing in controversy and concern. The effects of it are already very noticeable – rising sea levels, the melting of polar ice, endangered species, and so much more. Many people believe that the greenhouse gases are mostly to blame, but that is not exactly the case. March 10, 2015. March 10, 2015. Put a Ring on It. March 10, 2015 at 10:43 pm. When Earth Becomes Uninhabitable, Where Will We Go? – hbutter13

When Earth Becomes Uninhabitable, Where Will We Go? April 3, 2015. April 3, 2015. This presents an odd problem. Stepping outside on one side of the planet would melt your face off, and stepping out on the other side, you’d freeze to death. But, on a band around the planet, perpendicular to the equator, there is the possibility that life could thrive.
