Reflections. By Rebecca. Sharing my life and love with others. Sunday, March 16, 2014. Race for Inequality Graphs. This is an activity to help my kids to practice recognizing the graph of an inequality solution. I love "kill and drill" practice disguised as an activity; I love it even more if I can get them up and moving around the classroom. This short activity does both. Tape the graphs around the classroom with masking tape. Pass out two solution cards to each student. Short and sweet :). Be irrelevan...

Reflections. By Rebecca. Sharing my life and love with others. Friday, June 19, 2015. Arthur Benjamin and Inspiring Math. There are many things that I find difficult about teaching, but two of them are planning for a substitute teacher and inspiring my students. 1) Planning lessons for a substitute is really hard for me! I stress about whether my directions are clear enough, if the students will have enough time or if there will be extra time, if the substitute will even read my plans, etc. 8220;The numb...

Josh, Lyndsie, Blake & Blair: Just another day in paradise
http://lyndsieandjosh.blogspot.com/2012/06/just-another-day-in-paradise.html
Josh, Lyndsie, Blake and Blair. Thursday, June 7, 2012. Just another day in paradise. Kids screaming, phone ringing, dog barking at the mail man bringing my stack of bills overdue, good morning baby how are you. Half hour, quick shower, take a drink of milk but the milk's gone sour. I always think of this song, but at the end it reminds you "There is no place I would rather be.". Posted by Josh and Lyndsie. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Middle School Math Rules! http://teachingwithborrowedwisdom.blogspot.com/2014/08/made-it-monday-divisibility-powerpoint.html
Monday, August 11, 2014. Made it Monday: Divisibility PowerPoint. I taught the divisibility rules last year, but I don't think the kids really got them. I have had them memorized since fifth grade, but I never understood how they worked. So I did a little internet research. The videos at artofproblemsolving.com finally cleared up the confusion.
