Unlike my previous course (mat...

My journey – learning to teach. Reading made-up words →. Weeks 13 and 14. When I strolled into Mrs As class, it was a little lively, more so than usual. Within ten minutes I gathered that the usual carousel wasn’t happening that week due to staff absences and training. Mrs A went to her chair, grabbed a wad of papers and quickly came over to run through the details. To be honest, I stood their stunned, with my mouth open and an expression of ‘huh? Am I saying that right? I was hesitant with each child th...

My journey – learning to teach. Learning Key Stage 1. I’ll give you three building blocks – now build a house →. I went into school three times during these two weeks and we concentrated on reading. I’m reading and trying to understand: Phonemes. So that I know what the children. I think I’ve been lucky with my children, both are high achievers in their reading ability, something they inherited from their father who is a fast reader; I on the other hand am a slow reader.😳. Once the children completed th...

A classroom full of curiosity and wonder… | inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach
A classroom full of curiosity and wonder…. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. The Journey of a Child and a Rose. May 31, 2014. When children are invited to step into a relationship with an object, they begin to see, think and wonder. Their senses are captivated and their minds and hearts are engaged. During this work of representational drawing, the children develop skills for looking closely and communicating what they see and think. The petals are soft. The leaves are picky. I see red and green.

A Classroom Full of Smiles
Sunday, August 2, 2015. What you need to make this year the best back to school ever! I created the above picture because I believe it to be 100% truth. We all know that our hearts triple in size when we first meet out brand new little ones for the first time. I've taken this whole summer off from blogging and TPT. What? Well the answer is simple. Whenever I tried to work. Something like this happens. Gotta love the attention seeking 2 year old! Anyone else dealing with this? Have you heard the news?
