Peace (Mme A. Meilland). Ramblers were born from the Multiflora and Wichurana stocks in the late 1890’s. These were extensively hybridised and changed peoples gardens. Their long, flexible stems and proflific growth proved perfect for growing on arches, pergolas, walls and trellis-work. They bare large clusters of small flowers and most flower only once. Peace (Mme A. Meilland). McGredy, Northern Island, 1965. Arthur Bell is a fantastic example of a modern, fragrant Floribunda rose. It was bread in 1965 by McGredy in Northern Island and named after the famous Scotch whisky manufacturer. Peace (Mme A. Meilland). Floribunda roses were born out of cross breeding Hybrid Tea’s with Polyanthas. The polyanthas themselves were dwarf shrubs which came from the multiflora ramblers in the late 1890’s onwards. Early Floribundas were often without fragrance, however there are a lot of modern fragrant Floribundas now, just as many as Hybrid Teas in fact. Apuldram is a small parish on the north eastern upper reach of Chichester Harbour about two miles (3 km) south-west of the centre of Chichester in West Sussex, England. Access to the harbour is at Dell Quay. The nearest railway station is 1.2 miles (1.9 km) northeast of the village, at Chichester. The area of the parish is 1,073 acres (4.34 km2) and at the 2011 census the population was 169, a reduction of 9% from the 2001 census. 14th July, 2016.
