Five days in and we are in love with India. Well, so far we can only speak of Mumbai (or Bombay as most locals still affectionatley refer to it), but there are so many things that make us laugh, make us smile, and also confound us - but best of all give us something to think about, and enrich our experience of life. Sitting, surrounded by the...

Tuesday, October 24, 2006. An internationaly acclaimed brilliant film, and you can't give him a drink.#%? I mean can you imagine me refusing to sell a black person a drink after all the Indigenous activism i've been involved with, after the reinactment of the Freedom Rides and the documentary, travelling NSW to promote reconcilation and uncover contemporary racist attitudes. And my song! Could go in a pub.it was 1965." Well 41 years later and this attitude still exists. Posted by Laura @ 6:28 PM.

Ye Hai India Darling!: November 2005
http://ye-hai-india-darling.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Ye Hai India Darling! Monday, November 7. We had to change our flights recently, which in some places would be a simple task, but by the combined powers of Nepali and Indian administration was a formidiable exercise in frustration. We booked our flights home from a Nepali travel agent, who I assume unbooked our flights moments after we left the office. Puja's Adventures: August 2005

Tuesday, August 23, 2005. I'm in the final stages of organising my depature from Sydney to Kathmandu. I really have no idea how long I will be gone for, hence leaving is a little strange. Should i keep the kettle? How many boxes should i store in the attick, or should i just get rid of everything and throw caution to the wind. Sometimes I look around Sydney and I feel extremely sentimental about leaving, but then I realise this is my biggest calling and I can't wait to get outta here! KT and Carl's blog.

The reality of travelling begins when you begin to say goodbye - to your family, to your friends, to the balls of fighting fur that are dominating the house right now (I'll really miss midnight cat fighting episodes. though it will probably be midnight monkeys fighting outside our hostel).
