Vogel's Appalachian Mission

Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Our time is coming to an end. As many of you know, Rick and I have been working with Father Beiting Appalachian Mission Center since November. After much prayer and thought, more prayer and discussion, and then more prayer, we have decided we will be leaving FBAMC a little early, at the end of June. There have been many changes during our time here; some easy and some very difficult. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Http:/ www.YouTube.com/watch popup? We sure miss everyone! The Cathol...

Vogel's Appalachian Mission: February 2010

http://www.deaconrickandelainevogel.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 27, 2010. 8220;Congradulaions” Fr. Anthony! Well, the third time is the charm. Fr. Anthony has gained his independence and now has his driver’s license! Elaine and I decided to stop by Wal-Mart and get a cake to celebrate. A quick trip to the bakery to find the cake. We asked the clerk to write “Congratulation Father Anthony” on the cake. Well, what a surprise we got for our cake. Take a closer look at the picture of the cake. I just had to take picture. Tuesday, February 16, 2010.

Sunday, January 10, 2010. I am finally get refocused on our mission after spending the last few weeks enjoying family, friends and the holidays. We do have snow on the ground, and it is cold, and I did ask myself a few times, "Now why am I here and not enjoying sunny Florida"? I do know that I am where I am suppose to be! Vogel's Appalachian Mission: Off we go…

http://www.deaconrickandelainevogel.blogspot.com/2009/12/off-we-go.html

Thursday, December 31, 2009. Off we go…. Elaine and I had a wonderful time with Mike over these past few days. We left on the 26th for Mike’s and spent two days there with him. We saw a great movie, Avatar. If you have not seen this movie yet it is amazing! On January 1st we are leaving with Fr. Anthony (our priest from India) for Florida. This will be a wonderful experience for him. When we asked him if he knew where Florida was, he said “Yes, by Main, right? January 1, 2010 at 10:11 PM. Way to go Mike!

Forgettaboutit

Sunday, May 10, 2009. Well, its been a long time since I blogged because I got hung up on Facebook. That was fun for a while but I must say it has gotten pretty boring. I really don't need to know when someone is blowing their nose or scratching their butt. Blogging is not much more fun but it can be more creative. So I am going to try to get better about blogging. Saturday, October 4, 2008. I got no hair! And stop making her cry with all that Philly stuff. I must go now to find out if I am any better at...

Deacon Rick | My personal blog in Lakeland Florida

My personal blog in Lakeland Florida. August 15, 2015. Friday the therapist had me walk around the gym three times, the third time with a cane in hand. He always kept one or two hands on my back, gripping the belt around my chest. My slowest pace was with the cane! His explanation was the cane was something extra for my brain to have to think about. What a complicated piece of wiring it is under our skulls. I got tired then and get tired now remembering it. Another therapist who had read. The other day a...

Deacon Ricky's House - Home Page

Welcome to my house! Ricky Yelverton. I serve at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. In Richardson, Texas. I've had several of my brothers and sisters ask about notes to my Homilies so I have opened this website with that intention in mind. I will be adding to the website so come visit me anytime. May God bless you in a way that causes you to blaze inside with love for Him. I pray that the Blessed Mother will intercede for me; that only her Son receives the glory for any endeavor on my part.

Diocese of Rockford - Office for the Permanent Diaconate

Deacons assist their bishop i. At the direction of the Second Vatican Council, the Permanent Diaconate has been restored as a vital ministry in assisting us bishops in the mission of the Church. By Sacred Ordination and their exercise of 'the ministry of the liturgy, of the word, and of charity,' deacons have a special relationship to us in fulfilling our responsibilities of bringing the knowledge and genuine comfort of Christ to the People of God. Deacon Roger's Homilies

Thursday, May 28, 2009. May 31, 2009: Pentecost Sunday (B) John 20:19-23. Tuesday night I was driving home looking for the basketball score on the radio and I ran across a guy on talk radio by the name of Dave Ramsey. I had never heard of him, I don’t know if many of you have or not? I think he is right on track, in that if the country as a whole had listened more to parents and grandparents most would be in better financial shape. Today, of course, is the celebration of Pentecost Sunday. The day Jes...

Deacon Ron's Ramblings

Monday, July 27, 2015. Deacon Steve's Homily - Thankful for our Priests - 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time – B. Today’s readings remind us of God’s great generosity. A generosity that can never be outdone. In our first reading from 2. Kings, Elisha tells his servant that 20 barley loaves and fresh grain would be sufficient to feed 100 people. Of course the servant objected but did as he was instructed. It was more than sufficient, more than generous, because there were leftovers. Last month, on June 4. Our p...
