Thanks for visiting my blog! I am about to embark on the adventure of a life-time, as I fulfill a lifelong dream of giving back to Cystic Fibrosis! Follow along as I write about riding across the Rocky Mountains, all to raise funds and awareness for CF. I am riding in memory of my cousin Sarah, who lost the battle to CF, and for the future of Casey and Riley, just starting the battle. June 16, 2011 at 3:18 pm. She’d laugh her famous husky laugh all the way down the mountains! Love you, Mum xoxo. Auntie L...

Author Archives: Emily Allan. Day 4: Lakeside to Malpeque – 109km. June 22, 2016. 110km, 4:13 Sometimes you have bad days…and today was one of them. I think all of us were feeling it. We were feeling the residual fatigue from the day before. We were feeling the (slight) loss of sleep because there … Continue reading →. Day 3: Souris to Lakeside – 100km. Great People! | emilyallan81

June 30, 2013. 130km, 674m of climbing. As Dan sits next to me, editing his daily video blog, I am easily reminded of all the highlights of the day. Once again, today started with sunshine and we were in good spirits. The route was essentially flat and we finally got a small tail wind! After a small crash (Mike went down), we rolled into the hotel in Invermere, and then headed to the Kicking Horse Cafe (and coffee roaster). What a great finish to an amazing day. Wowza, that went fast! You are commenting ...
SUNSHINE!!! | emilyallan81

June 29, 2013. 104km, 812m of climbing. It’s amazing what a bit of sunshine can do…and by a bit, I mean a lot! Today was a GLORIOUS day! We started and ended the day in pure sunshine, no knee-warmers, and only arm-warmers and a vest for the first 10 mins! The group was in great spirits as we warmed up on our way to Yahk. Once arriving, we were treated with an amazing ice cream shop and soap store – yes, random, but very much enjoyed! And his beard into mutton chops for raising an extra $1000! You are com...

June 28, 2013. 135km, 1737m of climbing. Venga Boys is playing outside my window right now…which means tomorrow will be a better day, and I’ll have the song stuck in my head! As some of you know, last night Dan and I put out a challenge of raising an extra $250 and we would climb Kootenay Pass TWICE. Thanks to the generosity of all our supporters, it didn’t take long to raise that amount! But we told people we’d ride twice! Dan and Andrea sailed in just before it was time to leave for dinner and I made s...

The adventures of baby Emily. April 4, 2012. First time meeting the Easter Bunny! February 22, 2012. We had a really nice lunch date for Emily’s 3rd birthday which included pizza and a cupcake. The real treat was her favorite cupcake: white with sprinkles. Usually she gets a mini one but because it was a special day she got a super size one! You can tell how excited she was by the huge smile on her face. February 3, 2012. December 6, 2011. December 3, 2011. December 2, 2011.

July 3, 2013. 151km, 1641m of climbing. Google defines stunning as ‘extremely impressive or attractive’ and that is what our final day was filled with. The sights as we headed towards Banff from Invermere were simply stunning. Spectacular, in fact. I guess I learned from the last time that these are friends that I will keep for a life time. And no matter what, there will always be another ride, more funds to raise, and more awareness to spread. Leaving this break, however, was not what I wanted to do!

Digital Art Theory and Skills. Monday, December 9, 2013. The Interdisciplinary Interaction Design Conference. Nov 16, 2013. They all have very different experiences in the work world and their input was all very helpful to hear. If you think hiring a professional is expensive, try hiring an amateur. Your mom’s the user.
