Life with Riley and Stella. Life and training adventures with my labrador Riley and vizsla Stella. Friday, 4 May 2012. Stella's first heat cycle. And Caninesports.com/SpayNeuter.html. There was again the noticeable change around day 17-18 in discharge back to a darker colour for another 2-3 days as she came out of standing heat. I had noticed her vulva began shrinking before that and it continues to return to a more normal size. I noticed today (day 22? Update July 1, 2012 - Please see. 23 April 2013 at ...

Life with Riley & Stella: A Lab and a Vizsla go Camping
http://lifewithrileystella.blogspot.com/2013/08/a-lab-and-vizsla-go-camping.html
Life with Riley and Stella. Life and training adventures with my labrador Riley and vizsla Stella. Saturday, 10 August 2013. A Lab and a Vizsla go Camping. We have just returned from a wonderful two week vacation of camping with the dogs. We love to include the dogs in our travels and everyone enjoys it but I find it interesting how taking the dogs out of our normal daytime routine highlights the differences in their personalities. Hubby with the dogs. Stella stalking some ducks. Can we swim yet? Its fun...

YOU ARE EXCUSED: January 2011
http://youareexcused.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 30, 2011. Are We Having Fun Yet? I looked at Coach's nose this morning and saw pink and red marks on it. My first thought was, "OH NO - not another unpronounceable disease! It turns out it's teeth marks. Careful investigation shows that these teeth marks match Jazz's teeth exactly! The flip side of this ridiculous mess seems to be genuine pack solidarity. Jazz spends the night wherever he wants to and Coach sleeps in his crate. If Coach wants to get up before I do, (did I say if? Another ...

YOU ARE EXCUSED: August 2011
http://youareexcused.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 21, 2011. Life After Knee Surgery. Jazz is still improving, so this is a progress report, not final. We have entered NADAC agility trials and Jazz finished his novice tunnelers and open standard titles since the middle of May. DoG bless NADAC! Those of you with dogs who are currently in rehab or living "life after" any kind of surgery - hang in there. It is so rewarding to see your dog gain confidence and strength. Good luck. YOU ARE EXCUSED: April 2010
http://youareexcused.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 30, 2010. I always enter one trial during tax season. My own club's trial is held early in April and it is the very worst time for me to be entering a trial, but it is my own club and I always enter. This year I entered Jazz in novice obedience - with high hopes - and Coach in Rally novice - with no hope. Then again - who asked him to pull a sled? This was at least as bad as any time we have entered the obedience ring. Rats! He was a hoot in the ring. He nearly knocked the easel down on...

Smooth Sailin' Agility: October 2012
http://smoothsailin.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 13, 2012. Rilda Sue Fish - We Lose An Amazing Person. Rilda passed away on Friday morning, at the age of 62, following a recent diagnosis of lung cancer. Unfortunately, by the time it was diagnosed, it had already spread to her brain and spinal fluid. She knew her time left was short, she was diagnosed on July 9th, and fought it with everything she had. Unfortunately Rilda wasn't well enough to make the trip, but friends Peggy Patters, and Beth Haley were waiting to share video of Nike'...

barks and recreation: Last AKC show of the year
http://barksandrecreation.blogspot.com/2014/11/last-akc-show-of-year.html
Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Last AKC show of the year. Earlier in October we ran in our last AKC trial for the year. I do believe we are improving! We did three days total and came away with one qualifying Open Fast run and one Q in Excellent Standard. That Standard run didn't make it onto the video camera, sadly. Indigo had a grand time. She only appeared to be possessed in a few of the photos. See the drool? Here is a Novice Jumpers run in which I clearly called "come" in time, don't you think? My fir...

barks and recreation: November 2013
http://barksandrecreation.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 30, 2013. We worked a few challenging weave entries and she got them all. She still has a tendancy to knock bars but I don't obsess over it. The fact that she'd rather do agility. Than almost anything else is more important to me than keeping every bar up. Her enthusiasm is definitely contagious. Then we went home for a second gift. A cardboard box. Who needs new toys when there's cardboard? 65279;. To finish the day, a piece of salmon with birthday candles in it! I entered this photo.
