I wanted to whet your appetite with another glimpse of our quilt for the TOH exhibition stand (G28). There's a lot of quilting on this one and I've been burning the midnight oil to get it done. This is one of my favourite areas. Bye for now,. The Throug...

Fingerprint still had a presence at the show though - I kept spotting quilts that we'd printed. Here are the ones I managed to get pictures of. I love Alice in Wonderland and had been looking forward to seeing how this piece by Jane Varrall would co...

Robbie's Paw Prints: February 2015
http://robbiespawprints.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. Honest I have been busy! Can't believe I haven't posted in days! I know I have been busy at home and on the road! I'm working - slowly but surely! On my beaded bird! I forgot how much time sewing on tiny beads takes! This is the bird, which I printed onto a Wash-Away Applique shee. Same pellon I use for my fiber cards. And this is what I have finished so far! I do enjoy 'painting' with beads! That's how I look at it.just because I can't paint with normal paints! So, as I was ...

SiX and Friends: January 2013

Hilary Beattie - Ineke Berlyn - Linda Kemshall - Edwina Mackinnon - Catherine Nicholls - Stephanie Redfern. Thursday, 31 January 2013. Laura's post yesterday made me realise that the next exhibition of Orientation is quite close. Seeking ideas for new work I looked back through a sketchbook started when the theme was first proposed and I came across this page which I rather like. It's a combination of gouache with Indian ink finished with metallic, acrylic paint on an open spread of an A4 book. I'm likin...

Britt's bits and pieces: 2014-03-30

Tirsdag 1. april 2014. A bit of luck and happiness. This has been a strange month with all sorts of events from death to festivities. As a student councilor you have to be prepared for everything, but you never are. You just have to be there when things happen and do your best as a human. I’m not good at making comments on other people’s blogs, but it happens. This time I was lucky and won four bird panels. I love. S blogs. They produce. What I am going to do with my panels? As a background You put a lot...

Linda Kemshall: December 2014
http://lindakemshall.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, 14 December 2014. Crows and feathers (for a change). Today was the first day I've had in a couple of weeks to see the inside of my workroom for more than a few minutes. We've all been laid low with a nasty virus and have had to take turns to see who would keep the ship afloat. Whoever was less ill was it! We're all still coughing and sneezing but over the worst we hope. Why do these things have to happen at one of the busiest times of the year? And for much the same reason there are feathers.

Linda Kemshall: January 2015

Thursday, 29 January 2015. Cake and culture courtesy of the National Trust. We had a lovely few hours out yesterday visiting a local National Trust property, Wightwick Manor. The house is a treasure trove of Arts and Crafts decorative arts and interior design. Even the grand rooms are on a domestic scale and feel cosy - I could move right in here given half a chance! It's all a bit Downton and knowing my luck I'd probably be one of the women in the kitchen rather than with the ladies in the drawing room.
