Welcome to Matt's Shop. I started this bench/blanket box with the rails from two different Eastlake beds. The finish, by Eugene Smith, was key to transforming these mismatched bed rails into a useful piece of furniture. These carved mermaids were parts of an antique child's bed. They were transformed into great blanket boxes with hidden storage drawer in the back. They were finished by Eugene Smith of Fredericksburg. This antique, handmade cabinet was brought to me.
