An expression of our attempt to wander JOYFULLY…. November 6, 2014. On Higgins Lake — our 3-hour tour. Terry’s brother, Dan, offered to take us out on Higgins Lake. One gorgeous day in September. Dan towed his boat. All the way from Texas. To tour the lakes up here in Michigan! Of course, the Great Lakes are spectacular, but Higgins Lake. Lake I have ever seen. So many different colors and depths. What a vibrant green! Dan was amazed at the clarity, explaining that lakes in Texas are typically murky.

Jewels of my own. Monday, July 13, 2015. Holly, Trevor, and I made a quick trip to DC last week. We left pretty early in the morning, and as is often the case, saw trucks carrying interesting cargo along the way. Holly popped in The Partridge Family Greatest Hits CD, to Trevor's dismay. I sang along, audibly, also to his dismay. We passed a couple of semis carryingturkeys. Figuring out the best way to get seats (and not feel nauseous, another important feat! And landed at Union Station for our lunch.

Jewels of my own. Friday, July 31, 2015. We found a new (to us) path, actually part of a small couple of connected trails! Cherry Blossom Path is just a five minute drive away, in a mostly deserted, barely developed business park, and it backs up to our nearby soccer fields. There were several cars in the parking lot, but because of the trail system, we only ran into a few people. It seemed a good balance of solitude and safety. Several benches along the way.
