4th Annual Perogie Party. This was nothing compared to the total number of perogies needed-2000. Luckily, Toni had some other volunteers who came out and helped out with the making of the perogies. Nevertheless, it is a hard job and it is so humbling to see her sacrifice her own spare time to make the perogies for the past three years so that students in Kenya can go to school. Thanks to all the people who supported Toni in making the event a success. My gratitude also goes to all the people who atte...

Yesterday I had an opportunity to try out bowling for the first time in my life. I had so many expectations because I had heard so many good things about it from people who had tried it. Victor came nearly halfway through the game and he took Alison’s turn. His first ever bowling throw was a strike! All the pins went down! Everybody was super amazed including me. He is so good at aiming, he even got a double (hitting two strikes in a row). I was the one leading from behind but I also succeeded as...One g...

Reflections on being back to kenya. 2016 has been the year when I have had an opportunity to experience two different parts of the world, different people, different cultures and two different continents. Kenya and Canada. Half of the year in Canada and this other one will be spent in Kenya. Now I am back in Kenya and I can see the complete beauty of my country. I can really appreciate everything I see before me. Now I have an avenue to better the lives of other kids. I ...

My visit to Canada has been full of new experiences, one after the other, from snowshoeing to skating to skiing. Never had I imagined I would do all these things but I have had an opportunity to do them. My dreams have always been of being in the air, I want to pursue a career in aeronautical engineering and yesterday I began my career. It was like a dream come true, all those dreams that I had had as a young boy were now becoming reality. It was ‘ one small step for James’. We first went through another...

I love the flying, the best part is that I got an opportunity to sit near the window and took very interesting photos of the scenery.7 hours layover at Heathrow, London, I have seven whole hours to just walk around one of the world’s busiest airports. I had some cash on me so I decided to go shopping and I spent nearly a whole half an hour looking for the cashier.Well they have ATM’s (automatic teller machines). I have never done this kind of shopping so its fairly interesting. January 24, 2016.

From my visit in Canada I’ve experienced things that I never thought or imagined that I would experience. From going to the movies, to watching live rugby games. I had never imagined myself watching a rugby game live, cheering for my team. But on Sunday I had an amazing chance to do that. Something happened that I will never forget, Andrew Graham, the principal of Maple Creek middle school took me underground to meet the Kenyan players and I had this a. Mazing opportunity to take pictures with Collins an...

Union Mission Gospel In Downtown East Vancouver- The Power of sharing. There is power in some of the actions some people perform day in day out. One of these actions, as I have come to realize, is helping. Knowing that at the end of the day you have made a change in a person’s life is really important to an individual. This achievement struck some questions in me. I was asking myself how they have managed such a feat, giving three meals a day to over 250 people all year long. I asked an employee ...Soon ...
