Kansas FFA Vice President: March 2015

http://ksffavice.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Kansas FFA Vice President. Sunday, March 15, 2015. Stop and Smell the (Sage). What the results are showing is that your worst allergies are to hickory trees, cats, and sage. You said you were going to California next week? They have sage everywhere out there". Thank you, Doctor. I really. Appreciate you pointing that out. Long story short, I might as well be surrounded by hundreds of cats. This realization made me start to dread the trip and, once we got here, pretty miserable with anticipation of th...

Kansas FFA Vice President: July 2014

http://ksffavice.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Kansas FFA Vice President. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. After a weekend on the lake, Dad and I decided we should satisfy our need for excitement through a hike in the Ozarks. A quick Google search brought up a nearby trail and we set out with nothing but our favorite ball caps and two bottles of water. Now, neither of us have any real experience hiking, but how hard can it be? I mean, it's just walking around in nature, right? How often do we do have something similar happen in our lives?

Kansas FFA Vice President: September 2013

http://ksffavice.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Kansas FFA Vice President. Thursday, September 12, 2013. What do milk jugs, eggs, sugar, cream, vanilla, buckets and a bunch of community members get you? Gallons and gallons of homemade, hand-cranked ice cream is the correct answer! Every year my church family comes together to hand-crank anywhere from 50-80 gallons of ice cream to be sold at Burdick’s Labor Day Celebration. My Dad has even engineered a machine to crush up milk jugs that we froze water in for ice to freeze the ice cream with.

Kansas FFA Vice President: Simple Joys

Kansas FFA Vice President. Thursday, March 13, 2014. Spring break is fast approaching and whether we are excited for no homework, a vacation or the potential spring weather, I have a challenge for you. Often times I find myself in days like today where my to-do lists seems like it is a mile long and I have deadlines looming over my head. Do any of you ever feel like you have the whole world to conquer in one night? I certainly know that feeling. Sometimes our brains may look a little like this. After com...

Kansas FFA Vice President: October 2013

http://ksffavice.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Kansas FFA Vice President. Thursday, October 17, 2013. There's No Place Like Home. There's no place like home-Dorothy got that right. Kansas is the place that many of us call home-from the rolling Flint Hills to the open plains of western Kansas, we are all proud to be Kansans. The country is my home in Kansas, but I know that there is much more to our state than that. There's no place like home-who knew so many types of people could call one place home? Kansas FFA Secretary: The Race

http://ksffasecretary.blogspot.com/2014/07/the-race.html

Tuesday, July 22, 2014. 8220;The real purpose of running isn't to win the race, it’s to test the human heart”- Bill Bowerman. We ran for what seemed three-quarters of a mile. I could see the end of the road, meaning our destination was in sight. I took off! Finally, this is the second time Kansas FFA has heard or read of my running conquests (I promise my running stories are depleted). I would like to take the opportunity to introduce what my race of life consists of:. What we woke up to every morning.

Kansas FFA President: January 2014

http://ksffapresident.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 31, 2014. The other day it hit me… Right smack dab in the face—my time serving Kansas FFA members is over halfway done. I’m on the downhill slope. My time in the blue jacket is almost over. This thought, in all honesty, scares me a little. Tons of thoughts rush through my head… Have I made a good use of my time? Did I make a difference? How many lives have I touched? These thoughts make me more determined than ever to make the most of my remaining time in the Kansas FFA blue corduroy.

Kansas FFA President: Take the Time to Hit Pause

http://ksffapresident.blogspot.com/2014/03/take-time-to-hit-pause.html

Monday, March 31, 2014. Take the Time to Hit Pause. My parents are, in all honesty, the most kind and selfless people that I know. I’m sure that most people would say that about their parents, but even if my parents weren’t mine, I would still feel the same. They are the type of people who are never too busy to drop everything and take the time to listen to others. Are we spending so much time talking that we can’t listen? If someone has accomplished something really cool, ask them about it. Are we there...

Kansas FFA Secretary: September 2014

http://ksffasecretary.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 16, 2014. In high school I focused immensely on sports. After school I would devote two and a half hours of my day to that specific sport that season. However, I underwent a change when I graduated high school, because, despite my five year-old aspirations, I will not be a professional football/basketball/baseball player. Now it seems that every spare moment of my life (outside of FFA) is focused on my academic materials. In Seth Godin’s book The Dip. If not, do not feel reluctant abou...

Kansas FFA President: December 2014

http://ksffapresident.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Thursday, December 25, 2014. Around Christmastime, each family has its own traditions whether it’s decorating the Christmas tree, singing Christmas carols, baking delicious treats, or trading secret Santa gift. In my family, it’s a tradition to watch the Charlie Brown special on each holiday with our favorite being A Charlie Brown Christmas. As Kris Kringle tells us in Miracle on 34. Blessings to you and your family on this special day! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night. Are we there yet?

Kansas FFA Secretary: May 2014

http://ksffasecretary.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

Saturday, May 10, 2014. What do they mean for your future? I can think of a “last” happening very soon for myself. My final exams are next week, marking the last days of my freshman year of college. On the bright side, these final days count down to the time when I get to see some of the best dressed people in the State of Kansas wearing their blue corduroy as we kick off the 86. For your hard work? For putting in extra time to help out those around you? You might not be recognized for every single thing...

Kansas FFA President: February 2014

http://ksffapresident.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 28, 2014. Today is the last day of what, for me at least, has been a jam-packed, fun-filled month full of FFA. I’m sure that a lot of you had a blast celebrating National FFA Week last week. I want to give a warm shout-out and thank you to the chapters that hosted me—I had a blast getting to see the cool things that FFA members across our state are accomplishing. You are all truly inspiring! During FFA Week, we do an awesome job of telling the story of FFA and agricultural education.

Kansas FFA President: The Value of a Good Friend

http://ksffapresident.blogspot.com/2014/04/the-value-of-good-friend.html

Wednesday, April 30, 2014. The Value of a Good Friend. Pete soon got there and we quickly loaded the truck on the trailer and headed to Enterprise to pick up a vehicle to take us to Scott City. James, the manager, went above and beyond to expedite the process as we picked up Fred the Ford Fiesta. We soon were on the road and ended up making it to Scott City on time for the banquet! A lot of times we take, take, take, but are we remembering to give, give, give? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Kansas FFA President

Monday, September 14, 2015. Music Soothes the Soul. Thursday, August 20, 2015. All I kept thinking was this is the end, this is the final time I will have that deep conversation with a trusted friend. Could I have done anything different with my time with my friend? I went to many conferences throughout my lifetime, such as Washington Leadership Conference (WLC), State Presidents Conference (SPC), and State Conference for Chapter Leaders (SCCL), as well as many others. I absolutely love conferences!

Kansas FFA Reporter

Friday, April 17, 2015. We all have those days where nothing can seem to go right. We might wake up late and miss our ride to school, then realize we forgot our gym clothes at home, then sit down in class and remember we have homework due. But hey, it happens to all of us. I had one such week where I was really starting to get worn down and worn out, accomplishing nothing, like a bald tire trying to get traction on the ice. Luckily, a lone thought popped into my mind almost immediately: Kids! Over the pa...

Kansas FFA Secretary

Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Exactly three months and ten days ago I was elected Kansas FFA State Secretary and man has time flown by. These three months have been filled with new opportunities, countless new friends, and the joining of six friends who have become more like family. In fact, let me describe to you what I have learned about these amazing individuals. Ion My favorite SAE would be my small cow/calf operation. In this operation I run nine pairs and one bull on a rotational grazing system&#...

Kansas FFA Treasurer

Wednesday, November 11, 2015. Thankful for: Chipotle, Ignorant Jokes, and the Blue Jacket. What should we be thankful for as FFA members and supporters of the most giving industry, agriculture? What experiences should we be thankful for? Diversity in the agriculture industry make you thankful? Thursday, September 3, 2015.
