4th Grade 4ever: I Found a New Cool Tool and it's Free!
http://4thgrade4ever.blogspot.com/2014/07/i-found-new-cool-tool-and-its-free.html
Tuesday, July 22, 2014. I Found a New Cool Tool and it's Free! Problem: I've used a bunch of online and manual timers and they work ok. But this online timer adds two cool new features that I haven't seen before. My first problem is that if kids don't look at the screen, they don't see the countdown. My second problem is interuptions. I give 2 minute multiplication tests. It seems like someone always someone walks in after I start the timer. I can't wait to try this out! Posted by LeAnn Leyden.

http://iamcampingteacher.blogspot.com/2015/07/vegas-trip.html
Monday, July 13, 2015. Who went to Vegas? This was my first trip ever! I can't believe how much we packed in in only a few short days. I came home very tired, but full of memories, ideas, and a desire to do it all over again. I traveled with two fellow North Carolina teachers: Kayla from K's Classroom Kreations. And Theresa from Theresa's Teaching Tidbits. Here are some highlights of our trip! Here we are on the plane leaving Charlotte, NC. Meeting friends and checking in! I wish I could have met everyone.

Sunday, March 16, 2014. I love Student Teachers! I live in a small college town in PA. Every year the college seeks placements for hundreds of student teachers. Every year I sign up for one for the spring and I am never disappointed! If you've ever experienced a student teacher before, you may know that some experiences with them can be harder than others, but in the end it's such a rewarding experience for both involved! As the saying goes, two head are better than one! Now she can use it in her future ...

I am home now from Vegas, and I cannot even begin to explain how AMAZING my trip was! I was excited to meet some of the Elementary Entourage. Bloggers, and am excited to be linking up with them! My hubby and I left last Sunday to head out to Vegas! It was great because we were able to spend Sunday and Monday together before the craziness began! On Monday we hit up the outlets, and I was able to pick up this cute purse and wallet! I LOVE them, and they came in super handy! Their shirts are AMAZING! Wednes...

Literacy Love | My love affair with words, one page at a time.
My love affair with words, one page at a time. Chance, Choice or Fate? Posted in In the Classroom. This week I assigned my eighth grade English I students their first writing assignment – a 100 word story. Our theme for this course is “Chance, Choice, or Fate? 8221; and I wanted students to start exploring the theme that we will come back to again and again this year. Starting off the school year with a personal narrative, and a really short one at that, is engaging and doable for my students! 100 word s...

June 5, 2014 · 9:47 pm. All the gear – but only some idea. Well, the five people who saw me out there this morning probably thought I looked like a runner. I thought I did. Whether I ran like a runner now that’s another thing entirely. I’m so interested in it, I’ve done some research. Turns out there is a name for it – ‘enclothed cognition’ coined by two US researchers to describe the changes we undergo when we wear certain clothing. You can read more about it here. I was all misty eyed about sunrises, s...
