He traveled around Europe and painted pieces like the Melk Altar. His son Jorg Breu The Younger took over his work after he died. 4 The artist uses an almost white color for the illuminated parts of the mans face but uses a peachy color for the rest of it like value. This shows the face in more deph.

His pen name was GyeomJae, which means humble study. 4 In this particular painting there is no color but it uses value to give a feeling of something large because you can see the deep shadows in the valleys. He also used thin brush strokes and a smooth texture which make the mountains look more 3d.
