Adventures of a Stay-at-Home Mom. Tuesday, November 29, 2005. So my daughter has learned the fine art of tattling. Emily's friend JD likes to run after everyone, and he also tends to be a bit rough. Emily's the oversensitive one, so she really gets upset with JD sometimes. Well today she figured out that she could go tell JD's mom every time he did something she didn't like and it'd be taken care of. Oyoyoy. This is only the beginning. Posted by Heather at 8:25 PM. Sunday, November 27, 2005. She thought ...

Adventures of a Stay-at-Home Mom. Sunday, August 29, 2004. I think the last time I felt this awful was when I had the flu a few months back. I feel like S-H-I-T. I try not to complain, though, because I know it's part of the deal here. It's totally worth it. But sometimes it just plain sucks. Especially when it's the weekend and you want to do something fun. Instead I have spent most of the day on the couch, eating saltines and drinking lemonade. I came. In the middle of the store? It sounds like they're...

Adventures of a Stay-at-Home Mom. Wednesday, December 29, 2004. My little girl is turning 2. I can't believe she'll be 2 years old tomorrow. Where has the time gone? Jim was talking to Emily this morning, trying to. Her to stay one. She looked at him and said, "I two, Daddy," and she held up one finger on each hand. I'm so proud of her. She's such a sweet and kind little girl. She makes me feel like I've done something right. The only thing left to do (other than a lot of last minute cleaning) is make up...

Adventures of a Stay-at-Home Mom. Friday, September 30, 2005. Jim and I are getting together with a group of friends from college tonight. We're really close with these friends, and we don't get to see them nearly enough. They all live about an hour away. So my mom had mentioned (I didn't even ask) that she didn't have any plans for Friday if we wanted her to watch the kids. I told her to let me know for sure as soon as possible, since I'd have to see one of Jim's sisters could babysit. And then I felt b...

Adventures of a Stay-at-Home Mom. Thursday, October 28, 2004. Well, I'm done with session 1 of cake decorating. I'm definitely glad I took the classes, but I'm tired of cake at this point. Although, I made a spice cake for the final cake, and that's one of my favorites. I think it's the frosting we have to make that I'm really tired of. The only flowers we learned with session one were the dreaded roses and sweet peas. Here's the finished cake. Don't laugh. Posted by Heather at 8:49 PM. I think I felt so...

Adventures of a Stay-at-Home Mom. Wednesday, September 29, 2004. Quiet time for Mommy. Emily went to the park with my mom and dad this morning. She had such a good time. They walked along trails, threw rocks into the lake, and went on the swings. Then my mom and dad took her to a diner and they had lunch together. Em was exhausted when she came home and fell asleep within 5 minutes. I would bet that my parents are just as tired. She adores them, and they of course adore her. Posted by Heather at 1:40 PM.

Adventures of a Stay-at-Home Mom. Monday, October 31, 2005. We had a fun, busy weekend, full of all things Halloween. Jim and I went to an adult's costume party on Saturday night. I decided to be a boring doctor. I wore a pair of scrubs, and that was it. Ok, so I'm not so creative. Jim, on the other hand, was at a complete loss as to what to dress up as. This was what he decided on, something that was sure to shock his co-workers:. Notice the beer in his hand. He actually started drinking. I admit to che...

Adventures of a Stay-at-Home Mom. Tuesday, July 19, 2005. Our vacuum cleaner has some on-board attachments, one of them being a yellow feather duster that I find really handy. Emily likes it as well. She grabs it everytime I go to vacuum. I'm in the process of packing for vacation and I'm finding it a lot more difficult that last year's trip. Babies just entail a lot more. And of course, I always overpack. I'm trying to stay organized. Hell, I even have. I didn't even know she knew the word excited.

Adventures of a Stay-at-Home Mom. Wednesday, August 31, 2005. Complete and utter cuteness. If I do say so myself. I could seriously eat him up. Emily was napping during our little "photo shoot," so here are some recent Emily funnies:. Picking at a slightly raised mole on my chin. "Keep still, Mom. I'm taking your skin off.". Looking at me through her binoculars. "Turn around, Mom. I takin' a picture of your bum.". Stop, Daddy. I telling you a question! Posted by Heather at 2:59 PM. Monday, August 29, 2005.
