Wednesday, August 3, 2011. Every year we go to the San Luis Valley in southern Colorado to celebrate the 24th of July: Pioneer Day! This year was especially fun because Evan loved the events. Especially the parade. Getting candy is, of course, the best part of any parade. Evan hoarded as much as he could. He also loved the horses and flags. Here's everyone at the parade. What we do have pictures of are the results of a very dusty 4-wheeler ride (yet none of the ride itself):. Evan loved being at Nana's!

Wednesday, April 27, 2011. That's right. Evan can now say 20 words, so I'm recording them for posterity's sake. The Criteria: He must come up with the word on his own, not just imitate it. He can imitate lots of sounds. So here they are. Most are pretty standard (I assume, anyway). Some may surprise you. 4 Tree (this one has since disappeared from his vocabulary). 8 Guitar (it sounds like car-car). 16 Dot (there are lots of dots in his life. . .). 19 Helicopter (You saw it right! Can your kid say that?

Wednesday, August 3, 2011. My sister, Erica, says that I never post. I guess this is true. So here's an update of some of our summer adventures. In June, Evan and I went to Colorado to celebrate my cousin, David, returning from an LDS mission. Then we stayed for a week with Papa and Nana Decker. Somehow we didn't get very many pictures of this event, but here's the ones we have. Evan loved being at Nana's! Here is Nana and Evan at the cabin. Evan and his cousin, James. Evan didn't like the loud fireworks.

She's probably the best listener and advice giver i've ever met.whether it's info on how to cook potatoes, how to get rid of a headache, how to sew a carseat cover, or how to be a better wife - she's got all the right answers. She's smart. and super funny - especially when she's not trying to be and when we're shopping.

Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Last Real Day in NZ. It's our last real day in NZ. We're in Queenstown now - it's a great town. I really like it. We were going to go to Milford Sounds today but we got a bummer call this morning canceling the trip due to the weather. Sad, but I guess it saved us a ton of money so maybe now I can justify genuine UGG boots :). We've had the best time here - but I think we're ready to get back to the States. The House of Glass. Monday, July 15, 2013. Harrison quickly made himself at home wearing daddy's hat. He made sure to familiarize himself with the fridge. Playing at Lake Michigan's beach. The water is pretty cold but he didn't care. Enjoys wearing the goggles all the time. On the ferry heading over to Mackinac Island. Awake as the ferry got going. Asleep within about two minutes. Stopped during our bike ride to play in the waters of Lake Huron. Pretty rainbow to end the day with. This guy likes smores.

The House of Glass. Friday, December 14, 2012. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with visits to both Josh's parents and my family. It was a whirlwind of a week and we were exhausted by the time we got home and we all had colds. But it was great to see everyone and Harrison had a great time. And proceeds to take one or more off. If you look at our tree now, the bottom half looks a little spotty because most of the ornaments have found a spot higher up. Here are a couple of pictures from the last month or so.
