Hellimat's biking running and swimming. Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Fit friends may help you lose weight. So, I was reading my latest copy of Men's Health and one of their little tidbits in the margin caught my eye. It referenced a study in the journal Obesity. About how hanging out with fit friends may help you lose weight, even if you're not trying to. Now for a rant. Then again, I just read a bit of the abstract about the article.here, take a look. Despite significant efforts, obesity continues to be a m...

In our search for our dogs we've met some of our neighbors and everyone's really nice and seem to be dog people themselves. Several have offered suggestions of places to check and where their dogs often wander to. Monday, September 29, 2008. Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. If you haven't heard the show, you should check it out and see what you think. It aired on SDPB Saturday at noon. You can still go online. I've been ye...

She'd already been waiting for me for a decent amount of time. So we got in, took some pictures and I had to leave right away so that my mom could get ...There...

Sieversma's Smattering of Stuff: July 2008
http://sieversma.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Sieversma's Smattering of Stuff. Wednesday, July 30, 2008. It's not the heat, it's the humidity. I haven't done a lot of biking over the last week. I have been doing a little bit of running. OR swimming on dry land. However way you want to look at it. Last week I couldn't figure out why I ran 3 miles four minutes slower than my already slow time. Oh, could it be because it was like somewhere between 85 and 95% humidity? See you Friday night! Sunday, July 27, 2008. Speaking of, how'd the ride go yesterday?

Hellimat's biking running and swimming: March 2009
http://hellimatbikes.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Hellimat's biking running and swimming. Monday, March 30, 2009. My Vibram Five Fingers KSO. There's no padding, just a rubber sole to protect your foot and teach your foot muscles not to be lazy. Since running (and landing on your heel) with a traditional heel strike is bad (braking action, and hurts your knees more) I'll wear these some of the time. Without the padding, it trains you to land with a midfoot strike, which is faster and easier on the joints. With my soon to be wife. Links to this post.

Friday, November 6, 2009. Wakonda 125th Celebration Bike Ride. Officially called the Sonny Clare Bike Ride, in memory of a great community member. Sonny was a kind and gentle man who was a great supporter of school sports. But most of all, he was an inspiration to all of us as he rode his bike into his 80's. Today a planning meeting was held with LaneHogs in attendance to help plan this bike ride that will be held on Friday, July 2nd in Wakonda. Of course, Mr. Biking Brady. Wakonda 125th Web Site. Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Review of Goals for 2008. Is talking about resolutions and setting goals for 2009. I’ve been thinking about this as another year is quickly coming to an end. Last year I set some pretty lofty goals for myself:. 1 To approach the big 5-0 as gracefully as possible and at my personal best fitness level. 2 To put 3,000 miles on my road bike. 3 Compete in a local Senior Games Bike Race. 4 Improve my time in the USD Intramural Bike Race. And here is how I did on reaching these goals:.
