Running Through the Castle

Sunday, August 9, 2015. MCM 2015 Training: Week #8 and #9. It's been a busy couple of weeks as our summer draws to a close and we resume our schooling and activities! I am planning to take off one more week from swimming this coming week, not so much due to any pain or discomfort, but mostly due to scheduling constraints! This coming week is Week #10 - a Cut Back week, and when I'm done, the halfway point of training! I simply cannot believe it! Training has gone by very quickly, mostly because I've been...

Running Through the Castle: Race Report: Chilly Willy 5K

http://runningthroughthecastle.blogspot.com/2015/01/race-report-chilly-willy-5k.html

Saturday, January 3, 2015. Race Report: Chilly Willy 5K. Welcome to 2015 and my first race report of the New Year! I have been looking forward to this small, local race for a couple of months! My husband has been doing Couch to 5K and I suggested that we do a race to give him extra motivation and to start off the year with a bang! He hasn't run in more than 5 years, and he has developed a few health issues in the last 18 months, so this is a good way for him to ease back into things! About 15 minutes bef...

Running Through the Castle: MCM 2015 Training - Week #3

http://runningthroughthecastle.blogspot.com/2015/06/mcm-2015-training-week-3.html

Sunday, June 28, 2015. MCM 2015 Training - Week #3. It's hard to believe week #3 is already done! Time is moving by so quickly and the Marine Corps Marathon weekend will be here before I know it! I had to get a little creative with training this week due to signing up for a triathlon only 9 days before the event! This is what my training schedule usually looks like:. Monday - run, strength training. Tuesday - bike, swim. Wednesday - run, strength training. Thursday - bike, swim. Saturday - long run.

Running Through the Castle: Race Report: 2015 Tony Serrano Century Ride

http://runningthroughthecastle.blogspot.com/2015/04/race-report-2015-tony-serrano-century.html

Sunday, April 12, 2015. Race Report: 2015 Tony Serrano Century Ride. Well, I did it! I rode 100 miles in a single day! It was a wild adventure and I'm so glad I did it! I'm also glad I waited until today to write the report - I think from now on, I'm going to let it marinate for 24 hours before writing a report! Gives me time to reflect (and get amnesia, perhaps? First off, I got a great night's sleep and woke up just a few minutes before my alarm went off! Finally, about 10 minutes before the start, I h...

Running Through the Castle: Race Report: Peachtree Road Race 2015

http://runningthroughthecastle.blogspot.com/2015/07/race-report-peachtree-road-race-2015.html

Saturday, July 4, 2015. Race Report: Peachtree Road Race 2015. After 3 years away from the largest 10K in the world that happens right in my own backyard, I decided that 2015 was the year I had to join pretty much everyone I know and take part in this Atlanta tradition! We also purchased member hats while we were there because they look cool! I had wanted to buy a singlet to wear in the race today but they were sold out of my size. So strange for me. I couldn't do a Flat Runner picture! I ran up the esca...

Running Through the Castle: That time I thought I finished last...

http://runningthroughthecastle.blogspot.com/2015/06/that-time-i-thought-i-finished-last.html

Tuesday, June 30, 2015. That time I thought I finished last. As I mentioned in my race report. For the Hartwell YMCA Sprint Triathlon, when I checked the preliminary race results that were posted soon after I finished, I thought I had come in Dead Last. The results list, posted on the table where the awards were located. There's my name. at the bottom. It was the most interesting experience I've had at a race. I thought it deserved some attention of its own so that's why I'm writing this post now! I took...

Follow my journey from the Canadian Prairies to the Disney Princess Half Marathon. Neverland Family Fun Run 5k. October 25, 2014. One of the things I loved about the Neverland Family Fun Run (by one, I mean one of the thousand things I loved! Was the course. The 5k race started on Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland Park. Aahhhh, it was amazing! This is the map from the 2013 5k, but it’s the same course so you get the idea! Race announcers, Rudy and Carissa. Fireworks before the race starts. And we were off!

The Black Pearl Academy: August 2014

http://niffercoo.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Saturday, August 23, 2014. And away we go. We are 2 full weeks into the school year and have added Riley's new dance studio and Reece's dance/drama. This coming week, Riley will add her outside classes and then we'll be at our full workload and schedule. Of course, I still have 5 weeks of training left for my Half Ironman - these next 2 weeks being the most intense and high mileage. But we're making it through! There is only one of me. That is the biggest problem! Math U See Geometry is, so far, working ...

But I think it's applicable in the homeschooling/autism world as well. Please note that it has not been edited or proof-read before it was published. Unfortunately, that moment started me on a dangerous path. If I couldn't do something right away, I just didn't try again. I can't do this. The Black Pearl Academy: School Year 2015-2016 plans

http://niffercoo.blogspot.com/2015/07/school-year-2015-2016-plans.html

Thursday, July 23, 2015. School Year 2015-2016 plans. Well, after a busy summer with lots of excitement, it is time for me to start looking towards the new school year. I finally placed my book order over the weekend and the books are starting to trickle in. Riley will be an 11th grader this coming school year. So hard to believe that she is a Junior! Writing is the big one for her - the one I really want to focus on. I have so many good curricula for writing and I can't decide which to try first&#46...

THOUSANDS OF FREE BLOGGER TEMPLATES. Thursday, July 23, 2009. So I've been working like a dog for the past 2 weeks on this HUGE project at work. We went to a client a few months back with an idea to go national. and staff all of their locations from our home office. Piece of cake since we already staff 9 of the states now and barely break a sweat doing it. Unbeknownst. That was a huge RFP. Running through the kitchen

Running through the kitchen. Run fast, eat slow. Sunday, June 28, 2015. The rain was light, consistent, and refreshing. A sharp contrast to energy-stealing sunshine. I followed sections of bike path in directions that don't provide shade on hot sunny days but have plenty to offer otherwise, like nearby trees with leaves so broad I felt small as a smurf, and great views of the river, grey and choppy from the bursts of wind. Blame it on the rain. Weekly total: 36 km. Friday night cheese and cosmo combo :.
