The Garden at Liberty
The Garden at Liberty. Tuesday, January 25, 2011. Home Run Rose is the Season Opener! While enjoying the warm company of other garden professionals and enthusiasts, along with lunch and the (frozen) lakefront view of the Chicago skyline from Riva Navy Pier. On Thursday, I had the pleasure of hearing Tom Carruth of Weeks Roses. Tell us all about 'Home Run' Rose. Wednesday, January 12, 2011. Oh joy - the new. I opened my mailbox this afternoon and did a little happy dance right out on the front porch!

The Garden at Night - A Photographic Journey

What I really love about travelling is the newness, the viual stimulation. Everything is fresh and it is as if you are seeing for the first time. At home, I am always looking, but rarely have the time I need and often feel I have done it or seen it before. The Lady of the Night. Sunday, March 6, 2011. Today I s...

The Garden At Number 41
The Garden At Number 41. The Garden At Number 41. May 24, 2014. Bearded Irises and Chelsea. Happily the garden seems to be coping ok at the moment with just this minimal input from me, though I expect that the expanding perennials and shrubs could be concealing some lurking menace that will rear it’s ugly head later in the year, however this has been pushed to the back of my mind. Though my modest collection of bearded Iris can’t possibly compare to the the offering at Chelsea and I have no more ro...
The Garden at OJA | a journal of our edible education
The Garden at OJA. A journal of our edible education. Horizons are often difficult to judge. Sometimes things that seem far away turn out to be just over the next hill while other things that seem to be right at hand wind up being miles away. So it is with time. A deadline that seemed an eternity away is suddenly tomorrow and an idea that appeared so far away, surprisingly pops up into view. The Edible Schoolyard at OJA. And the Emeril Lagasse Foundation. And Hunton Brady Architects. Dirt Day in Pre-K.

The Garden at Oswegatchie School
The Garden at Oswegatchie School. Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Mother Nature Helps Out. Peppers are starting to form! Mother Nature has been very generous with the rain so far this season. We haven't had to use the hose that often. Tonight we were contemplating running over and giving the Garden a drink when the skies opened up and dropped a quick inch and one half of rain down. It's nice to not have to schlep over there so often to water. Tomatoes enjoying the heat. The first of the cucumbers are popping out.
